90000 Miles on the Timing Belt. Do not let this go! A timing belt failure can cause internal engine problems.

Should cost around 200 or so, depending upon your local labor rates.

Good Luck!

Buy a Haynes manual (about $20) from an autostore; you're going to need it for this task

I have 86 honda csi when i hit the gas it wants to bod down and lose power

With the information provided, I can think of two different solutions. the first one is to take the vehicle to your local muffler shop, to have the catalytic converter checked to see if it is plugged. The second would be to check the timing to see if it has jumped a couple of teeth on the belt. (It might be that you need to have the timing belt replaced). It is recomended to replace the timing belt every 60,000 miles.

How do i adjust the timing on a timing belt for a 1986 honda civic?

the distributor has three bolts holding it tight against the engine head you will have to loosen them using a 12 millimeter wrench and then you can turn the distributor to advance or ****** the timing.

The timing belt on my 86 Civic will not turn, what could be a few causes for this?

if engine turns but belt does not the teeth on the belt will probably be stripped at crankshft gear, remove belt to inspect. most likely this will have caused engine damage

1986 honda civic fan not working

check for power at the fan. The fan may went out, but you need to check the fuse and relay for this. the relay turns it on and off and the fuse is a preventive measure.
