From underneath, fill-hole is on side of transmission, either a plug or screw nut.

SOURCE: how to change oil transmission isuzu rodeo 2003

There are two drain plugs on the bottom of the pan. remove the lower one to drain the trans fluid. To refill, use a pump and pump the fluid into the upper drain plug until it seeps out and re-install the plug, similar to refilling a manual trans.
Once this is done, Start the vehicle and run it for about 3 minutes, shifting through all gears (do not drive vehicle Remove the upper drain plug and let any excess fluid drain out. Done. This is as per Mitchell OnDemand.

SOURCE: transmission oil

The guest is right...there is no dipstick. there are 2 plugs and the one you want is called the overflow plug. it is smaller than the drain plug and in a recess.

SOURCE: 1995 isuzu trooper manual transmission

Hello smeet3992: The transmission uses 5w-30 for tempretures up to 95 degreese in tempreture. Uses 15w-40 for all tempretures greater then 50 degreese. If you are in an area that has extreme fluctuation in tempretures I would use the 15w-4o engine oil. I also senrt a picture of where to check the oil at. Make sure you pull the right plug. The reverse idler pin has the same size bolt head.

SOURCE: 2001 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 V6 Oil Burning and motor tapping loudly

Do a compression test on all the cylinders and see if the rocker arms are adjusted to the right. If the compression is bad then there will be no power at all and if the Rocker arms need adjustments you could be losing some power there too.
You can try cleaning out the engine from the inside out. I have done this many times when I buy a use car. I run Marvel Mystery Oil with the engine oil for about 4 months and keep an eye on the oil level. Marvel is a thinner oil and clean out the inside by removing the carbon collected and oil sludge inside the engine.
You may end up having to replace the oil pressure sensor, it seams to always be the first to go bad and may get some oil leaks. But once the engine is cleaned up you'll have a better understanding on the condition on the engine and be surprised on how well it runs after.
Just keep an eye on the oil level and change the oil and filter to free up the engine, then use the recommended oil and add Lucas oil and or Restor to help the loose of compression.
The loud tapping tells me that your not getting the oil to the top of the engine and that may be a bad oil pump but it may also be a plugged oil pump screen and the Marvel Mystery oil will clean up the oil screen.
Good luck and hope this helps, Keep me posted on your Rodeo.

SOURCE: 1995 isuzu Rodeo engine noise

valve guides worn and tappet adjustment required, can check tappet adjustment first to see slightly better before removing heads and getting valve guides repaired/replaced on heads common problem
if raise revs to 1500-2000rpm and hold does clatter come and go come and go (valve guides) if there all the time tappet clearance issue
if there only under load (1st rev up) for a couple of times then stops possible big end bearing
all these are common for this engine

WHERE DO I PUT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IN MY ISUZU RODEO 1998 4WD V6-3.2L ENG. WHERE IS THE FILLER???

stevenhurc_15.jpg most didnt have dip stick for auto trans, fill through fill plug shown then start and run through gears to circulate oil then remove fill plug while engine is still running and topup until oil just trickles out of filler plug hole. It is a bit of a pain to fill and can get messy depending on what you have available and be careful of the hot exhaust as you fill and top up trans level.

I have a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo that I've just bought. I cannot find the transmission dip stick. Where is it located?

Most transmissions didnt have a dip stick. There is a drain plug in the trans pan and another plug higher up in the pan which is the filler plug. Fill until oil trickles out, put plug in loosely, then start and run through gears. Remove fill plug and top up level while engine still running and make shure vehicle is on flat surface when topping up level until oil trickles out fill plug again.
see some similar posts on Jackaroo, Trooper, Rodeo, Frontera all had similar set up, similar trans.

I don t find the place{hole) for fill the A/T gear box of isuzu rodeo 3.2

It will be the same hole that has the dipstick in it that you check the transmission fluid with. Use a long funnel that will fit into the dipstick hole.

My 2002 isuzu rodeo transmission is slipping should i first get it flushed before buying a transmission?

We had the same problem with a 2002 Rodeo. The transmission must be replaced. But keep in mind the Powertrain Warranty (yes this does cover the transmission) on 2000-2003 Rodeo's is 10yr/120,000 miles. Call 800-255-6727 with your vin# and they will verify. Good luck!
