SOURCE: car jerks when brakes are applied

Highly possible that the rotors are warped. You may need to get them cut and replace the brakes.

SOURCE: 2003 hyundai santa fe constantly jerks while idling.

it has to do with the injection system. Might be something stupid like a manifold intake gasket leak (commonly known as cylinder 4 misfire problem) or it could be a part of the system like : spark plugs, wiring, fuel injector, throttle position sensor. A low cost solution worth trying is a kleen flow injection system cleaner. It will remove a lot of carbon and see if it helps...

SOURCE: jerking brakes

have the disc rotors checked for warpage and bad wear. Check that the wheel bearings are in good condition and properly adjusted. Check pad thickness as you may have metal on metal.

2012 Dodge Avenger. My car feels like it's slipping or missing when going uphill or excelerating

Check the transmission fluid level. As you are on an incline, it hasn't enough fluid, so it slips. That make the engine have no load, so it jerks.

Honda element 03. Normally starts up at 1,000 rpm in park and shifts into drive smoothly. Sometimes starts up b/w 1.5 and 2k rpm at idle and JERKS into drive or reverse.Solutions?

Cars not control choke themselves electronically, this is likely the car trying to warm itself up quickly. The jerking will occurs anytime you shift into gear at an RPM over a low idle as the torque converter is being engaged. If the high idle last more than a couple of minutes then you might have an issue.

For some reason my 98 honda accord 2.3 engine. Its starting to jerk slightly when I drive over 45 miles an hour nd I break to a complete stop thats when I feel the jerk. Sometimes the jerk can be harder...

Front brake rotors need to be turned and new pads. Adjust rear brakes. the front brakes are doing all of the stopping. (overheating the rotors, premature pad wear).

Jerky accelerating, late response to gas being pressed

Well for one, make sure you speed up slowly, dont HIT the accelerator. It may also be problems with your fuel filter. After you are stoped fuel stops running through the fuel pump/filter and then when you start going its starts to run through again and it cant keep up so it gets bubbles in it and doesnt move throught the filter easily hence the jerky accelerating. Good Luck

2002 Ford Explorer Jerking when in motion

Does the jerking feel like a fish bite ( especially when pulling a hill?) if so it may need plugs and wires

if you have one bad plug wire the problem seems to smooth out at higher speeds

Hope this helps

While at idle, SOMETIMES my car jerks and feels like it will shut off.

I had that problem with another one of my vehicles. It ended up being the fuel pump. The problem was that I let the fuel level in my vehicle get to low, and that the fuel filter inside the pump had gotten debri from the bottom of the tank stuck in it and it was starving the vehicle for fuel. Eventually my vehicle wouldn't start. I had a tow truck driver tell me what the problem was. He banged the side of the fuel pump real hard and the vehicle started right up. I eventually had to replace the fuel pump.
Hope this helps.
