SOURCE: Galant Special Edition 1994 Motor does not start

this maybe caused by no fuel or faulty fuel pump, ignition coil, wire and plug crank position sensor. first check for spark by removing on spark plug wire and put a spark plug in the spark plug wire boot, donot touch the plug only the boot have someone crank the car over. if you see spark, that part of the ignition is good. if not, check the coil resistance if should 40 to 80 ohm with a volt meter pf not replace. if ok, but no spark check the igniton control madule make sure the coil and module are receiving current. if not check the fuse that feels them. if it is ok, check distributor cap and rotor. if rotor and cap are fine, check for fuel at either the fuel filter, the fuel return line or removing some spark plug and see if they are wet. if there is no fuel check the fuel pump and the fuse and relay that control the pump. if there is fuel with high pressure but there is no spark, check the crank sensor for signal with a volt meter while cranking the vehicle

SOURCE: Engine cut out at 4500 to 5500 rpm while you are driving.

Check your fuel pressure, and see if your exhaust is flowing right. If exhaust is not flowing good then your catalytic converter is stopping up. Low fuel pressure would be because eather fuel filter, or fuel pump. Also check your air intake filter and your fuel ratio.

SOURCE: when car is hot the engine starts to rattle

you can try a tune up first or you can have your compression check you can have a crack head..it will keep an air bubbles in the water an mess with the temperature sensor. but you must be adding water to the radiator. do you have any water in your oil? if not a major tune up will fix you up.

SOURCE: 91 mitsubishi gto has random engine cut out.

Does this car have its original ECU? I ask this because this and a number of early 1990s Mitsubishi cars/truckas had isses with capaciors leaking. In truth I believe it is a matter of when and not if. As the ECU begins to fail the engine can begin to run poorly ( I speak from experience after changing both ECUs in my Montero and my son's Doge Stealth (3000GT) ) I did have an issue too with my son's Stealth running poorly, by good luck I happened to be looking under the hood with poor lighting and noticed a faint blue spark from the wiring leads by the coil after a good look I fould a wire would ground out when the engine was throttled; this caused the engine to torque slightly causing the wire to rub and finally ground out.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

SOURCE: pajero diesel when starting from cold, runs for

It's definitely your injection pump seals mate.....common prob with these engines. My 1994 2.8TD was exactly the same until I had the sealls replaced. I went for the complete reconditioning and not just the main seal and it cost me £519 in total. Dunks

My car will start and then after a minute or two of running, the car will idle down and cut off but I can start it right up again and still get the same results. Whenever I put it into gear to drive it...

Sounds like a possible clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump. The system provides and initial extra pressure to pressurize the system then pump pressure drops to normal. If pressure is low or filter clogged decreasing available volume the symptoms you describe are the result.

First scan the PCM for trouble codes using a hand held engine scanner, Then repair codes by replacing failed sensor as needed.  If no codes are present try replacing the idle air control motor.
Auto Zone will scan your car for codes for free so you know what your going to have to replace and they do have a how to do it your self instructions to what your going to replace.
Good luck and hope this helps
