Timing belt set timing for 3.2 v6

Unfortunately, the owners of many of these vehicles are totally unaware that their timing belt needs to be periodically replaced for preventive maintenance. The belt is out-of-sight and out-of-mind and, unless they read their owner's manual (which few ever do) and see the replacement recommendation in black-and-white, they usually ignore the belt until it's too late.

Before setting the timing colt Mitsubishi 3 V6 engine make sure you know where the timing marks are on your engine, and that you have them set up properly with No. 1 cylinder at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke before attempting to replace the timing belt. Belt - quieter.

There are marks on the crank gear and the cam gears that line up to marks on the new timing belt. An old belt might not have the marks any more because of age. Therefore a new belt might be necessary to be sure of this.

Get a T belt from toyota. It has 3 white lines on it and and arrow mark. 2 lines are solid and one is broken. Put the arrow facing away from the engine. The cam gears have a dot punched into them near a certain tooth. This is where the solid white lines will line up with. The crank gear will have a dot also. It will line up at 90 degrees from the top, towards the front of the car. This is where the broken line will match up with. With the belt installed with all lines on their proper dots and arrow away from the engine, you valve timming is correct.
Of course you need to remove and compress the tensioner also. I assume you know this already since you didn't ask.

there are 3 timing belt in the v6 model. next time make sure to make marking before removing the belts.

For which engine.............VGI301 thats the V6 or the L engine?
