On some cars the bulb for the brake lights is separate than the tail lights. If not then check the fuse for the brake lights. It is typically separate from the tail lights. Also check for broken wires in the trunk area. These could be damaged from items in the trunk moving around.

Brake lights and rear turn signals dont work in my 2008 dodge charger

If both the brake lights and rear turn signals are not functioning in your 2008 Dodge Charger, there are several possible causes to consider. Here are some common issues that could lead to this problem:
1. Blown fuses: Check the fuse box for any blown fuses related to the brake lights and turn signals. A blown fuse can interrupt the circuit and prevent the lights from working. Refer to your vehicle's manual to locate the specific fuse for these functions and replace it if necessary.
2. Faulty bulbs: Inspect the bulbs in the brake lights and turn signals to see if they are burnt out or damaged. If a bulb is not working, it should be replaced. It's possible that multiple bulbs have failed simultaneously, leading to both the brake lights and turn signals not functioning.
3. Wiring issues: Check the wiring connections and harnesses for any signs of damage, loose connections, or corrosion. Faulty wiring can disrupt the electrical flow and prevent the lights from operating. Repair or replace any damaged wiring as needed.
4. Malfunctioning brake light switch: The brake light switch, located near the brake pedal, activates the brake lights when the pedal is pressed. If the switch is faulty or misaligned, it can cause the brake lights to not work. Consider having the brake light switch inspected and replaced if necessary.
5. Faulty turn signal relay: The turn signal relay controls the flashing of the turn signals. If the relay is defective, it can prevent the rear turn signals from operating. Consider replacing the turn signal relay if other potential causes have been ruled out.
If troubleshooting these common issues does not resolve the problem, it is recommended to consult a professional mechanic or authorized Dodge service center for a more accurate diagnosis and repair. They will have the expertise and necessary tools to pinpoint and fix the specific issue with your 2008 Dodge Charger's brake lights and rear turn signals.

All rear lights dont work the way they should

Sounds like the previous owner patched a hot wire to the rear lights instead of fixing the problem.
Someone will need to get the factory wiring diagrams and start backtracking from the lights to the dash to find out what is wrong. You may need a shop manual to get the diagrams you will need. Most repair books do not go into wiring that deep for the DIY.

2008 hyundai elantra. All lights work on the rear of the car except brake lights. Fuses are good. no power to break lights when break peddal is depresed.

The most widespread Hyundai recall, affecting up to 531,894 2005-2008 Accent, Azera, Elantra, Entourage, Santa Fe, Sonata, Tucson, and Veracruz models, is NHTSA Campaign 09V122000. It is focused on a malfunctioning stop lamp switch that may prevent brake lights from illuminating when the pedal is depressed (the same switch may also cause them to stay lit after the brakes are released).
Owners of affected vehicles may contact Hyundai Customer Service at 1-800-633-5151, call the NHTSA Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or visit SAFERCAR.GOV

All lights work on the rear except the three brake lights

Sounds like the brake light switch has a problem. Located above brake pedal and activated with the brake pedal arm. Check for power going in and coming out when you apply the brake.

Hundai Accent 1999, back lights ( brake) - they light constantly

Your vehicle's brake lamp switch is located on top of the brake pedal arm bracket. Most brake lamp switches can be adjusted if they cause the lamps to stay on, however sometimes a replacement of the switch is the only solution.

How do i change brake fluid in my 2004 Hundai Accent

1st check the easy things, that would be the brake fluid level. If it's low, the light will go on. Next check the emergency brake, if it's on slightly, the light can come on. Your fluid should be changed when u have a brake job done, the light wouldn't be on for that, only if there is a problem w/ the system. Check this out asap, as it can be unsafe to drive. If adding fluid to the proper level results in the light going out, make sure to check the level daily to make sure u don't have a leak in the system (and u can look under the car for signs of a leak-drips stains puddles). As your brakes wear down, it is normal to have to add fluid, but only a small amount maybe a couple of times between brake jobs. If u have the brakes done in the future, have them flush out the brake system. This is overlooked most of the time, and can result in problems down the road w/ corrosion of calipers and brake cylinders, which lead to premature wear on the brake pads and shoes. Let me know how u make out.
