SOURCE: My GMC canyon truck 2006 is running very rough. I did a diagnostic test at the part store, and the codes P0300, P0017, P0068, came up. The dash control panel says reduced power.

Code 300 is for a random miss, code 17 is for a problem with the timing between the cam and crank sensors, and code 68 is a problem between where the throttle position sensor is and the amount of air coming into the throttle body.
You may need to research the trouble codes to get the testing procedures. You may also need a scanner to do the tests.

2006 gmc canyon rear brake line plug from master cylinder size thread ?

You mean the brake line flare nuts on the end of the lines? I see nothing that looks like a 'plug'. You buy the lines ready made or you have them made a garage, using a brake line flare tool set. eBay sells them ready made.

Locked radio 2006 gmc canyon

Most modern cars have a security code enable for the installed radio/cd players. This is an anti-theft device.

The initial documents given to the owner when the vehicle was purchased lists this code and how to reset it.

If you are second owner/original owner who has lost this information, then, you can approach gmc canyon dealer and they will have this code on their server. Normally a free service (I believe).

The security code is lost from the radio whenever keep alive voltage is removed from the radio. i.e. You disconnected or replace the battery.

I hope this helps.

Cars p0017 engine code

This is a nice truck but when they get old they develop engine problems (misfire codes and performance issues). After 150K miles the head starts to wear out. Oil and coolant changes are very important. Code P0017 refers to a fault detected in the Crank or Cam positioning sensor. This could be true or there could be a fault inside the head. Without test equipment it is hard to advice you. This engine has VVT technology. Since this engine does not use an EGR valve, it is being taken care of through the Phase controller. There is a solenoid on the passenger side of the engine. It is directly above a coolant port, at the front of the engine. This solenoid is called a Phase controller valve (or solenoid). it is common for this part to fail too. I hope this helps but if you need more info please write back. Please be as specific and detailed as you can. The more information that you can communicate to me. The better I can help you. Good luck.

I have a 2009 GMC Canyon 43,000 miles. Check engine light came on 2 weeks ago.

The cam solenoid may be bad/worn out or the screen is blocked causing this code . States vary on emissions.

Diagnostic test said codes P0300, P0017, P0068, and dash says reduced power, and is running very rough.

Put those code into google for description & fix

OBD2 PO300 etc

You can print code charts also

Codes won't tell you what is wrong, the web sites may

Codes don't tell you to change anything, you have to know
how to component test, doubt you will find that, need factory
manuals

Helm.Com for manuals

Two of codes are not generic-- so thus the internet search

The PO300 is random cylinder misfires,no value by it'self

What is p0017 code

Crank-cam sensors are not aligned, meaning the sensors are not sending signals when the computer thinks they should be.
Sometimes it is a problem with the timing belt or chain, sometimes a sensor problem.

What does the code 172 mean for a 2005 GMC Canyon?

it means that your fuel is running too rich, and needs more oxygen for a cleaner burn. i think that your oxygen sesor may be faulty, but have autozone run the trouble codes for you,and see what exact part is bad.

GMC Canyon, computer shot.. cost?

You can to the Salvage Yard for a new computer, but your going to have to get it reprogram to your ignition keys, so the Passlock will start the engine. Before you go through all of that. recheck every thing, it could be your crank sensor or your ICM faulty causing your engine to shut down. Keep me posted and let me know what DTC codes you have. Note: a faulty fuel pump or dirty fuel filter will not set a DTC code. You may have a dirty fuel filter or faulty fuel pump or faulty fuel pump wire harness or fuel pump relay.
