SOURCE: instrument panel lights

could also be a "CEM software upgrade" but I recently found a pinched wiring harness in a passengers side door creating an instrument panel going out in an 01 s40. go figure. If its a software upgrade, it would run about $60-100 depending on the dealer.

SOURCE: Replacing broken front corner light panel on Volvo 850

When you open the hood, look directly behind the headlight. all the way in the corner and a little way down should be a hook. I usually use a screwdriver and pull directly outward and then a little to the right or left. Then bring the hook back and the corner light should be disconnected. Then you can pull it out and do what you need to do. When you put it back, its a pain because you have to get the hook into a plastic groove. Make sure that you know where the plastic piece is before you start, just get a flashlight and find it. Then use your screwdriver the pull the hook up and get it into the groove. Presto!

SOURCE: Problem for Volvo 2002 S60 Volvo s60 instrument

I have had this problem for about 2 months. I took my whole cluster to an electronics repair shop and asked them to re-solder the entire board inside the cluster. Afterwards, the problem was still there but I noticed that when I put a little bit of pressure on the heatsink, the whole cluster would come back on. So I took it back to the same shop and they made a shim to mount over the heatsink and so far there are no problems and its been 2 weeks.

How do you remove the rear door panels on a 2007 Nissan Altima.

Good day Peter.

You can find some pointers here
Inside Rear Door Panel Removal or here
How to remove door panels Nissan Forums Nissan Forum
To the Nissan Forum materials, I can add that auto parts stores and eBay are both good places to get kits of tools for popping auto panels. They make it easier to get them off without gouging up the paint or the panel with a screwdriver, and with less breakage of the pins.

Good Luck!

The instrument dial needles in my Cefiro have become very hard to see. They're dark red and thin and just don't show up (day or night). This has become progressively worse over the years. Is there a way...

If you can get the Perspex face off the dash panel and you use a very fine paint brush you may be able to paint the pointers with a anti collision orange paint > this tends to reflect any light and would be visible with dash lights on. IF you cannot get to the pointers easily then a replacement dash unit may be the answer.

I am looking for a fuse box diagram for a 1995 Honda Prelude.

The manual indicates Fuse 11 (10A) interior fuse box, INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS.
Also, the is a dimmer for them:
The dial on the dashboard to the left of the instrument panel controls the brightness of the instrument panel lights. Turn the dial to adjust the brightness.
To reduce glare at night, the fuel and temperature gauges dim when you turn on the parking lights or headlights. You then adjust their brightness when you adjust the instrument panel brightness. Turn the dial up as far as it will go to return the fuel and temperature gauges to their daytime brightness.
You can try the following URL for a copy of your manual (which includes fuse box diagrams). You won't be able to save the whole thing (except by sections), but you can print copies of whatever sections are important to you. You'll need Adobe reader (free from Adobe) to read the manual.

Hope this helps you.

Inside panel does not light up.Which fuse do I replace and the location. I have the fuse box diagram, but I don't know how to read it.

I’m assuming that you are talking about your instrument panel lights.
First, make sure and check the dial on the dashboard to the left of the instrument panel. It controls the brightness of the instrument panel lights. Turn the dial to adjust the brightness. If it accidently got turned all the way down, you will have no instrument lights.
If that isn’t the problem, the interior fuse box is underneath the dashboard on the driver's side. Remove the fuse box lid by swinging the lid down and pulling it straight out of its hinges.
Fuse number 30 (7.5 amp) controls your instrument lights.
Hope this helps you.

Dim light in instument panel at night on my 1989 corvette.

there could be a bad connection between your dimmer switch and the lights themselves. often times through vibration and wear and tear the connectors degrade. check this first. also the dimmer switch itself could be the cause.check all the connections associated with the panel lights, look for loose wires and/or bad connections if there are none replace the dimmer switch
