Depends on availability for your model tranny and area you live in. Average is around $300 for a decent used one up to around $700 for one with low miles. Best to just call around and compare.

Need to purchase a speedometer cable adapter or sensor housing unit to transmission for a 1979 Dodge Ramcharger, I am unable to locate this part anywhere?

Have you tried rockauto.com? Cheapest prices anywhere-huge inventory. Or a salvage yard? A yard could put it out on a nation wide locator for you. You might luck out that way.

I need a used transmission for my 1994 dodge dakota, what years are compatible? if any... and what is a reasonable price

Check with an auto salvage yard. Their interchange manual or database can tell you which transmissions will interchange with yours, what years and models to look for.. Prices vary, depending on your location, etc., etc., say in the neighborhood of $350-$500 for a salvager's unit. If you buy one, change out the front transmission seal before installing. Easy to change out, good insurance against a leak.

Transmission replaced with salvaged part now gears won't engage worked for 1 month after install?

You never install salvage yard transmissions or transfer
cases,including a manual trans

A salvage yard is for parts no longer made or rebuilt
& mostly for a hobby or restoration project

They are possibly worn more than the one you replaced

Buy a completely rebuilt factory reman & install it

It doesn't matter about the salvage yard or installer

Your correct, they may be sort of being even employed
in the auto repair field, unfortunately you should have asked
first, about that type of work, repair, etc.

Need to find a brain for my 1999 ford taurus

Hello, Try a Website Car-parts.com, and there you can make a parts request and get prices from Salvage yards nationwide. The site will list contact info and you can contact an individual Salvage yard directly.

The Salvage yards ship directly to you. You need to have the Year, Engine Size, and look on the door sticker for Pollution Setup information for compatibility. It should be on the doorjam with other build Codes. You can talk directly with the Salvage yard about this.

If you price a new brain, it will be expensive. There are rebuilt units and you may find someone to send your old unit to for repair, but it will be time consuming. This is a popular vehicle and there should be an abundance of parts.

95 Sunfire (SE, 2.2L) is stuck in 3rd gear. We had someone look at it and tell us it isn't the transmission, it's the shifter box. You can't buy them from parts store or dealer - any...

What you are asking a stranger to do is, go on google.com and find some salvage or auto recycling
yards and find a price for a shifter box for that car. And the reason you can not do this yourself? You have the advantage of knowing where you live so you could determine which are local and hence no or low shipping costs.

Transmission shudders at 65-70 mph, or when load is placed on vehicle with light acceleration; when stomp down and downshifted, shudder stops, but returns at low throttle position or when load is placed on...

I am going to give you information for an F150 as you did not identify your vehicle. Some of the F150 trucks had a problem called "driveshaft whipping". For a while, Ford used a lighter driveshaft to save weight. Sometimes the truck developed your problem.

Some of the driveshafts are interchangeable and people went to Salvage yards to buy the heavier old style driveshafts. Car-parts.com is a Website with Salvage yards nationwide who will quote prices and ship a part to you.

You could try having your own shaft rebalanced and new joints put in; it may solve the problem. Or you could get a heavier Salvaged shaft and have it checked. You may want to put in new joints but you should have a guarantee from the Salvage yard.

I hope this helps you. If you do not have a truck, then update your information on your request.

Computer transmission. how much does it cost to replace.

have you yet called autozone or advance auto parts about this computer transmission cost of it because both companies have a major wear house full of car parts and it might take them a couple of days to send it unless they have it in there stores plus they might tell you that the other autozone across the other side of town has it so first check with them plus if either stores can get this that they will tell you to contact Dodge dealer in your local area or too you can go to a salvage yard in your area as well because even though they might have around your year of car, make and model the salvage yards or junk yards might have the part at a cheaper price.

Control arms for 2001 pontiac bonneville ssei

Try the Salvage yard, you can get then around $45.00 each if you pull the parts your self. Call around though, different Salvage Yards have different price and will always try to beat the price of another Salvage yard. They pull parts for you too if you don't fell like getting your hands dirty twice. Good luck.
