Hey guys i got 540i 98 and i got a few problems! i know something a bout mechanical but never in bmw i got miss fire in cylinder 5 and 6 is this car single coil or just 1 for all of them? also knock sensor 2 circuit2 fail some body can give me a hand whit? thanks

Check fuel filter, pump relay and fuel pump/fuel pressure, or just change both and rule them out as possible problems.

Passenger side, 3rd from the front of the engine.

If the battery dont got power then its your altinator because thats what keeps its battery OR it could possiably be the wires and spark plugs

The brake light on the dashboard will come on if the brake fluid is low. This can be caused by
brake/shoe/pad/rotor wearing down i.e you need to do a brake job.

i have came across this problem before.timing out by one tooth on timing gears; get it checked out.hope this helps yo.adrian

how to reset my 1997 bmw 540i?

1. You need an oil filter made for your year and model of bmw.
2. The 540 is the 8cyl version vs the 528 is the 6cyl version
3. yes, you can go back and forth from regular to synthetic oil with no problems
