2000 dodge ram pick up - ac blows hot air and freon is good

My dodge truck blows hot air when I turn on the a/c. I checked the vacuum system and the freon pressure is good. I turn on the ac and it blows cold at low fan level but when I turn it up or hit the breaks and it goes back to hot air. I thought it might be the switch controls at the dash but I dont want to spend money on a new control panel for nothing. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Sounds like a leak in the vacum system. any time you hit the brakes its pulling the vacum for the brake booster and the heat/ac vent door is going from the recirc position back to outside air

My gmc yukon 2000 slt rear ac blows hot air when i have ac . on and the front works fine .

I have a 2000 GMC Savana Van SLT with front and rear AC/Heat. My front would blow hot while the rear blew cold with AC on. It turned out to be low on Freon. It's hard to know if you have the right amount of freon installed because pressures vary depending on the ambient temperatures. So the best way is to remove all the freon then reinstall the recommended amount as listed on the evaporator housing near the firewall. This worked fine for me... works like new after installing the correct amount of freon.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 that will blow cold and hot air for only a few minutes. After that is only ambient air temps. It is a 5.7 ltr, automatic with only one set of climate controls. The heater core...

you say it will blow cold and hot air for only a few minutes. You don't say but I assume you mean will blow cold a few min. when turned on AC max , blow hot only a few min. when turned to heater hot. Assuming thats the situation and you say AC charged and shows good on the low side -you should charge the AC to a full charge on the low side will cause problems with the AC air compressor kicking on and off. I suggest while the engine is running and turned to AC cold max watch the AC air compressor clutch to see if it does indeed kick on and off if so charge completely. As far as the heater make certain you coolant is all the way to the top and the best way to do this is when engine is completely cold remove radiator cap and fill completely and completely close cap then fill overflow container just to the cold level. That should fix your problem.

Ac works fine for 5 or 6 min then blows hot air

Freon is low. Its normal for the system to loose 10% freon a year. Due to the price of freon its bettery to make sure there is no large leaks before top off.

2004 Dodge Ram Ac cold on drivers side - hot on passenger. Have checked each servo that is accessible. What can cause the dual air problem.

Check for a bad left door actuator motor.Have you checked the freon,to see if it is low?If the freon is not low,a servo,or actuator motor is not working. They are hard to find some times. If it is a vacuum problem, try this, remove the ac control out of dash, and remove the vacuum plug from vacuum switch.Spray some silicone spray in the switch, and the vacuum plug. Then reattach the plug,do this while the ac is on,and engine running,so the spray will be sucked into the vacuum switch, and servos.I have fixed a lot of them like that, but use nothing but silicone spray.Let me know the out come.

Ac not working, blows hot air only. Recharged

Check the evaporator coil by sniffing the vents, floor is best, with your tester.
