Check your alarm. because the alarm system has a engine immobilizer which makes the engine do what you are experiencing. Take the car to the dealer and tell them what is going on and they will reset the car system.

Hi:
You didn't mention the year of your vehicle, but often when the electric door lock solenoid fails, it becomes siezed in place, where it is un-moveable. This causes the condition that you are experiencing. One way to check to see if this is the cause, is to remove the drivers inside door panel and disconnect the door lock solenoid, and verify the manual key lock works ok.

.G'day mate this seems to be a power to the central looking probem ,things to check first are fus, actually pull it out and make sure it is in sound condition, then go to the door jamb and see that the harness is not crimped /broken ( if the switch is in the door ) other than that take to the repair shop as these are quite complex vehicles electrically, hope this helps

You don't say if it's "just" the dash lights, or if other lights do it as well. Try turning on a dome light and see if the dome light does it along with the dash lights. Do you notice your headlights doing this as well? These are just troubleshooting steps. If multiple light sources (dome, headlight, etc.) do it, then it's most likely a voltage regulator issue.
