Got a code p1123 on and car went into failsafe engine and no throttle response what most likely needs repaired or replaced?

this is dangerous, you shoud have all the subframe bushes checkedby a garage asap also get your tyres checked! subframe buses wear out and the subframe moves left and right, at speed it is more noticeable hope this helps
SOURCE: failsafe engine mode light comes on, codes
Just a quick mention - for about a month my XK8 low coolant light came on intermittently. This week with no notice while driving normally I got Stability Control Fail and FailSafe Engine Mode and wtih great difficulty got the car back to where I started from (less than a mile). Two days later (when got time) and after a bit of research, I tried it again - same problem and a very unhappy engine. I then disconnected the battery for 15 minutes (probably more) to clear the engine codes as well as check all the wiring and vacuum stuff I could under the hood (at a Jaguar master mechanic's recommendation). No problems found but the car would start and immediately stall with the air intake hose disconnected from the intake butterfly. After I reconnected the air intake hose, she started and purred like normal. The problem is the BATTERY... It is low - I've known it for a LONG time BUT it always started right up and never skipped a beat. I intend to replace it tonight but fully expect that's the issue. I've had the car 6 years (it's a 98) and had NO problems except a dead taillight asembly.
Hope this is of value...
SOURCE: My 2000 Jag S type also keeps saying failsafe mode?
fail safe mode is something the vehicle computor will go into when there is a problem with the vehicle it allows u to get off the highway or road safely you need to take vehicle to repair shop or your dealer which ever u prefer Failsafe engine mode on a 2000 jaguar s type is caused by a stopped up throttle body. Jaguar says not to clean the throttle body since it has a protective coating to help keep deposits from accumulating. You can clean the throttle body as long as you use ONLY throttle body cleaner that states it is safe to use with a protective coating. The butterfly valve in the throttle body will actually stick not allowing air to flow into the manifold causing failsafe engine mode to kick in reducing the amount of power your engine will produce. To solve the issue just clean out your throttle body, it will cost you around $5 dollars and take 1 hour of your time.

If you get just a click you should first check battery charge and all battery connections. The click is probably the solenoid kicking in but without enough battery to turn over the engine.
SOURCE: OBD code: 1576 is generated.
Hi,
When the failsafe light comes on the PCM has detected a fault and goes
into a restricted mode to prevent damage to the engine and transmission.
It can be a brake switch, accelerator pedal problem or possibly a fault
with the electronic throttle.
As you have already scanned and got 1576,this code is for the pedal position sensors. The usuall cause is the accelerator pedal itself as all the sensors are internal in the pedal. The cost of the part is around $475.The pedal is easy to replace as you need to remove two 10mm nuts and one wire connector.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Kindly accept my solution.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!.
