2000 Frontier CC SE Turns over but will not start

Similar situation.
2000 Frontier CC SE

Last year it started intermittently hitching up, almost like a starving carb. If I backed off the gas, it would smooth out but it would be up and down. The shop traced everything back (fuel pump, plugs/wires, distrib, timing, etc.) and thought the issue was in the distrib.

So, at 75k we replaced the distrib and plug wires.
No big deal, should be done someday anyway.
Truck ran fine for a few months, then on the way home it started hitching up again. I made it into the garage and shut it down. Tried to start it again and it started up fine. The next morning, would not start. I had to get it towed back to shop.

This time they recommended switching the ECU.
Switched out the EDU for a tested used unit.
Started up, ran great.

20k miles later, driving to work it hitches up once when taking a corner. Comes out of it and I make it to work and park it. After work, I go to start it and nothing. Turns over, but wont spark up.

Get it towed to shop again. This time he can get it started and a code comes up. I'll know more tomorrow.

The problem with your truck is not the fuel pump. Its the sending unit for the pump, which is on top of the fuel tank and feeds POWER to the fuel pump. Nissan has a campaign for it, because those units corrode internaly inside of the connector, that sends power to the fuel pump to power it up. Have the dealer run DCS check , to see if you have a open campaign for the sending unit. If you do, it will be free of charge and in some cases the whole fuel tank needs to be replaced also. However, that may not be your problem. I have seen ECM/computer getting flooded by the heater box. There is a drain tube, that drains your heater box, that tube gets clogged up by debriss/stuff and that's when water has no place to go and it leaks on top of you ECM/computer and fries it. Have you noticed any wetness on pass. side floor?? Right by the fire wall. Check it and make sure that its dry/carpet area at the top of the carpet behind the glove box. If its wet, that's not good. Let me know what you have found and will take it from there. Is the "Check engine light on" by chance?? Let me know.

There should be a 30 AMP mini blade fuse in the fuse box under the hood that you are probably missing. I assume that since you got the relays with the wiring kit, that you got the kit from a Nissan dealer. If that is true, there should be a fuse in the kit also- in a sealed bag that has the "trailer wiring harness owner's manual" in it.

If you do not have the adapter then you need to buy the adapter. Those are lose wires made for trailers to power everything. You need to supply the adapter with the white box on it

SOURCE: 00 SE Altima, Is it the timing chain or the motor or both??

there are 2 belts. belts not chain for the nissan cars since 1990. once the belt brake, it also take the valve with it. so, replace the belts, and have the valve rebuild. total cost between $500-1000, depends on where you have it done. if you go to dealer then you can double the price.

Nissan Frontier 2005 diesel car slows intermittently when accelerating take the foot of and back on the accelerator and it works again any ideas

When was the last time it was serviced? I had this issue on a different car and it turned out to be a 'Very' dirty fuel filter. Bad quality 'cheap' fuel or some types of 'Bio' diesel can cause similar problems.
Lifting your foot lets the fuel pump catch up supplying fuel.
This is also a reasonably cheap fix.

Nissan Frontier V6 2007 will not start in cold weather. Battery ok. Will crank but not start. Using battery booster will start and run fine. What would cause this?

You may have a failing starter. After about 5 - 7 years the battery begins to weaken it will allow your starter to kick but the starter itself may be too worn and too weak to keep your flywheel turning.

BMW 323i 1999 takes a long time to start in mornings and after short layoff. Engines seems not to want to crank. Battery OK. Changed sensors, fuel pump & relay. Dealer cant find fault. Starts after...

Friend, you've changed everything but the right thing. The temperature sending unit. It tells the computer to go into cold start mode to start the engine by putting more fuel into the engine. If this sensor is erratic, sometimes don't work, it will cause a hard start situation if not in cold start mode. Dealer cant find this because it's a manual thing and may not be showing up on his tester.

Hitch wiring

You will need to get the little plastic adapter that you can just squeeze onto regular factory wire. You will only need to use one side.
