We bought our son a Big Hauler rc set with a 7.2v rechargeable battery pack (along with the basic option to use the 6 D batteries) but can't quite figure out how to make the battery pack work in the engine. Can anyone out there help us?

Also compare prices of the individual pieces, to see
if it would be more profitable to break up the set.
The Generation 1 Locomotive, is of minimal value.

The batteries are located in the enginge (locomotive). They take 6 D sized batteries. At the very back there is a panel that you need to slide off to get to the battery compartment. Somtimes it may take a little manipulation to get the panel open.

There are two switches at the rear of the engine. One turns the sound on and off and the other turns the power to the engine on and off. Make sure you have the power switch turned on. It should default to full forward with the transmitter off.
