My check engine light has come on in my 2006 Pontiac G6 after 2 and a half years. What could possibly be wrong since I keep my car serviced and the guys had just told me that my car was in tip top shape?

I have replaced gas cap but engine light keeps coming on

I had the same issue a few years ago, but with a Subaru Forester. The Subaru service department suggested starting the engine and shutting it back down six to eight times. Let it rest half a minute of so between starts.

I hope this helps, and please do let me know.

Service engine soon lights keep coming on and i check oil and water often

The service engine soon light is a tell tale light that reports to the driver if there are sensor problems with the engine. It looks at coolant temperature, Throttle position, altitude, outside air temperature, fuel mixture and other things to make your car run good and smooth with many years of reliability.

My 2006 Pontiac G6 won't start by remote. However, it will manually but a check engine light came on. What could be wrong with my car? Is it an expensive repair?

If you have a check engine light, the system is designed to prevent remote start or shut it down shortly after. Get the code checked and proceed from there.

Pontiac g5 2006 light check engine keeps going on and off doing this for a year now I when to the garage like 4 time can't find nothing wrong now I went to another garage the machenic said theirs nothing...

THIS IS DUE TO AN INTERMITTENT FAULT. POSSIBLE CAUSES ARE ENDLESS. THE ONLY REAL WAY OF DIAGNOSING THIS IS THE TECHNICIAN WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE WHEN THE LAMP IS LITE OR THEY COULD HOOP UP A REMOTE RECORDER WHILE YOU DRIVE AND IT WILL RECORD THE EVENT WHEN IT HAPPENS.

I have a pontiac Grand Am GT 2000...My check engine light is staying on and now is my engine service soon light. What is the cause for this? I get oil changes on a regular basis and when I do the lights...

The best Idea for your situation is to bring it to a Autozone store and have them hook the scan tool up to the vehicle and they can tell you what is possibly wrong with it. I myself have the same model and year vehicle so please feel free to contact me if you get lost in fixing it.

Grand Am 2003 "service engine soon" light

The service light means something is wrong with the car and it needs attention now. Get the codes checked and that will tell you what is wrong with it.

Engine light 2006 pontiac g6(reset)

first be sure that its the engine light and not the "service" light. the service light will usually illuminate if its time for an oil change. if its the service light ur owners manual should tell u how to reset it. if its ur engine light then try disconnecting ur positive battery cable for 1 minute. that should reset ur ecm and get rid of the engine light. if the engine light comes back on then have a diagnostic scan done to determine whats causing it.
