Possible , but I suggest running the fault codes first as the problem could be a crank/cam position sensor, immobilizer or ignition control module or fuse

SOURCE: fuel pump

there is a fuel pump inertia switch in trunk. this is designed to trip and cut pump off in wreck. if it gets bumped can trigger and cut pump off it is a button you push should be a sign on side of trunk showing it

One of the tail light bulbs can be shorted internally.  Replace the tail light bulbs first.  Try this cheap fix first.

SOURCE: 1998 Lincoln Town Car cranks but does not start.

possible just not probable. you need to see if there is any pressure to fuel rail. if not youre going to have to by pass the fuel pump and see if it is getting voltage. if so then apply a seperate voltage and ground wire to the pump to see if it kicks on. come to think of it, it could be the PATS system(security) that shuts down the system. it will crank but will not fire. your ford dealer will need to reprogram the system.

SOURCE: 98 lincoln town car won't start. fuel pump

the enginr oil pressure switch runs the fuel pump till the oil pressure is up to the normal operating range. When the pressure is up the relay kicks in and takes over the power to the pump. The oil pressure switch my be at fault if you can no hear the pump running when you turn the key on

SOURCE: 1999 lincoln town car no start

yes the teft light will stop the vehicle from running. that is the pats system and can cause all sorts of trouble. if the light flashes fast its not reading the key. no start. if it turns on for two seconds and shuts off the it should start

98 lincoln town car will start but runs only for a few seconds to a few minutes then shut off

U need to check your crankcase starting sensor. OR it could be a fuel problem. Usually fuel pump doesn't allow the car to start at all. So it shouldn't be that. But it could be an extremely clogged filter.

WHERE IS THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE ON A 1997 LINCOLN TOWN CAR LOCATED--- NOT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY

No driver module shown on the wiring diagram for 89-98 models.
There is an EEC relay that powers the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay is grounded by the PCM. The voltage goes from the fuel pump relay thru the inertia switch and on to the pump.

I have a 2000 lincoln town car that is not getting fuel to start it. When I spray fast start it starts and dies. Could it be a PCM Relay ? Fuses ae all ok

Not likely. Most likely cause is a bad fuel pump. Sometimes you can verify this by giving the fuel tank a good smack. If it starts after that then your pump is still bad it just gives you a way to know that was the problem.

1986 Lincoln Towncar will not start. I can't hear the fuel pump priming when ignition is the run position; can anybody please help me?

try restting the inertia switch in the trunk. When you turn key to "ON", the fule pump will run for only 5 seonds if the engine does not start. Listen at the fuel tank for humming of the pump. The PCM, Powertrain Control Module controls the fuel pump relay. So, when you turn key on, the power relay powers up the PCM and the PCM powers up the fuel pump relay.

Any good with automobile electrical? I've got a 98 lincoln town car that won't start. cranking, good batterie, checked fuses.

If car cranks but will not fire, then I would start with seeing if I have fuel pressure in the fuel rail to make sure it is not a fuel pump problem. If I know for sure I have fuel pressure. I would see if I have spark at end of spark plug and if not then I would start to check cranshaft sensor, and move on to test coil pack and so on to computer. Have you placed a test for codes to see what it pulls up? God bless you and give you wisdom.
