Why does dashboard readcheck gauge gmc safari

Remove dashboard, remove hvac unit cover, replace heater core. About a 8 hour job with the correct tools. Good luck. Better get a service manual

the computer is behind the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle

on the dashboards top section near the drivers side

If it has a sensor in the dashboard try replacing that

Like most GMC Vans, remove the dashboard, then the heat core cover....

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Could be fuel pump, is the pump running when you turn key on, you should be able to hear it. You are likely going to have to take it to someone with a pressure gauge to make sure it is getting proper fuel pressure. Fuel pumps commonly go on these vehicles

Is the headlight switch turned all the way to illuminate the dashboard lights? If it is, check the fuse for instrument panel, also marked as instrument cluster.

if the gauge is still stuck when the van is off, try whacking the dashboard right above the gauge. PLEASE RATE MY ANSWER.
