The Odometer Light and Gear Shift light have gone out on my 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe, can I replace or am I better off going to the dealer?

If I remember corrctly( I do get the years mixed up once in a while) When you open the hood and look at the top of the headlight assembly you will see either one or two black levers. Pull up on this or these and you will be able to swing the headlight assembly out towards the front of the vehicle, you will now have access to the light.

if you remove the headlight, it has two pins that slide down one on each side unhook the wiring for the bulbs. next you will see the top of the parking light on the side closest to the middle the parking lens has a built in clip if u press it in with your finger and pull out the whole lens will be accessible and you will be able to change the burnt bulb

Take out cluster and replace light. you might have to pole off the dash and steering wheel. be careful of the air bags.
