Better to have the codes read on your car. Get a list for free at most Auto parts stores. They will plug in under your dash, have them print out and explain which codes may be causing the problem. I`m thinking speed sensor, yet can`t be sure.

Coolant light on in my 98vw beetle and isn't low

1999.5 Jetta TDI: Loss of acceleration at speed.

Loss of power. Runs, motor sounds ok, top end is about 65, have to down shift to go up hills. Smokes when put under load. Replaced the fuel filter, not the problem.

Loss of power when under 2000rpm wont accelerate unless I give it high revs. no fault codes being shown and engine man light has now gone off/ reset - still have problem - will run happy with lots of power...
