1994 Land Rover Discovery 1 misfiring. No blue smoke at all, checked turbo, it's fine. Is it the HT leads?

Turbo has been checked and is fine. It's not the timing belt either. Engine lacks power but idles perfectly. Misfires out on the roads with lumpy ride. Sometimes has problem with keeping running even when switched off and key is out of ignition. Can anyone help please?

SOURCE: Starts fine when cold, after running dies on idle then wont start

Sounds like the fuel filter is dirty and needing to be changed. It's cheap and easy to swap out.

SOURCE: default code P1451 Land Rover Discovery II

The code P1451 on a Land Rover is "Leakage Detection Module Motor power stage error Drive cycle A:Signal out of range - above maximum". This is an OBD-II diagnostic system code. As far as I know, a 1995 Land Rover Discovery does not use a OBD-II system. Is it possible that this rover is a later model year

2000 Land Rover Discovery 2. I cannot find a leak detection pump but get a P1451 and P1481 code. Could this be the solenoid for the charcoal canister vent in the engine bay giving me the issues?.

Question edited for clarity.

My late mother worked at the Land Rover plant in Solihull and put careful miles on a Disco when it was known as the 'J Car'. Also the first Vogue with a turbo. Long time ago!

Information and videos on both codes.

When going along fine my landrover discovery suddenly revs like hell and pushes out big clouds of smoke what could be wrong?

It seems to me that you either have a dirty injector. Maybe you should try using those cleaning additives to the fuel. Tank it up full.

Installing moreys boost kit vaccume hose

If its non turbo it really does not matter which vacuum line you use as long as it feeds to the manifold. I'd use one thats conveniently located, if its turbo you'll have to install a one way valve in the line to stop boost from escaping into your lubricant.
