2006 jeep wrangler lock is broken, how do I fix?

  • aantonn04 Jun 29, 2009

The door lock is broken. I have to turn the key while pulling on the handle simultaneously in order for the door to open, when outside the car.
When inside the car, I have to hold the "unlock" button with one hand while simultaneous pulling on the door handle to open.

Depending on whitch lock it is (door, ignition or glove box) you can replace the lock with a keyed alike cylinder or have yours repaired by a locksmith they are not hard to replace but the ignition need special tools and u must deal with th eair bag.

How to fix 2006 jeep wrangler p0073

Code 73 means the signal coming from the air temp sensor is too high. Could be the sensor or a short in the wiring.
You may need a shop manual to get the testing procedures.

I hit a bump at 65 on freeway and my jeep 2006 jeep wrangler unlimited with 28000 miles went into a death wobble what do you think caused it and what needs to done to correct it?

You will want to look for a broken sway link on the front or back. On the front it's normally a vertical piece made of metal or plastic that connects the fat rod going across the front of the vehicle to a knuckle near the base of each shock tower. On the back it is similar vertical piece, but it may look a little different than the front.

2006 Jeep Wrangler cigarette lighter not working

Check for un-isulated connection on the hot wire lead. It might have been after-market but on mine the connection would short out, blowing a fuse. 1 inch of heat shrink tube fixed the problem.

06 Jeep Wrangler making a loud clincking or grinding when turning

Hi there,

By any chance is the transfer case engaged?

A locked drive train could account for the noise being made only on turns.

Bring the transfer case to neutral then back to 2-high.

Or try to duplicate the problem by putting it into 4-high. THAT way the dealership would know exactly what to look at.
