There is a round plastic container near the left hand side between engine and mud guard. Unscrew the top and you will find a dipstick that shows correct fluid level. Use transmission oil sold at garages etc. The brake fluid container is on the same side near the radiator.

How to change a transmission fluid filter

You have to remove the transmission oil pan to access the transmission fluid filter. The bolts are turned counter clockwise to remove and clockwise to install (righty tighty, lefty loosey). The biggest problem you will have is the transmission oil leaking from the pan after you replace the transmission pan. Look up the details on proper installation of the pan. Also, check your manual (at local library) to see if their are going to be any obsticles you will have to remove that might be on top of the transmission pan or in the way of the transmission pan. And please don't under-fill, over-fill, use cheap transmission oil or the wrong type of transmission oil. Make sure you use the kind of transmission oil that your vehicle manufacture recommends. Have plenty of rags on hand. Put some cardboard under your vehicle to catch any spills.

Where is the dipsick for transmission fluid located?

Hi, I don't believe you have a dip stick on that truck, the check/fill plug is underneath on the transmission pan, the bottom plug would be for draining and the upper one for checking and filling, check only with engine running on level ground, parking brake on, with fluid warm, not real hot, move shift lever through all gears then back to park, idle about 3 min. and remove plug use little finger to check ,it should be up to the bottom of plug hole, if needed add recommended fluid in plug hole with a simple pump or squeeze bottle. Fluid should be a reddish color with no burnt smell! Have a pan and rags ready!

Where is the transmission dipstick

If it is an automatic then I am not sure but if it is a manual tranny then there is no dipstick. There will be a set screw/bolt on the side of the tranny that is an oil level indicator

Transmission oil filling

I changed the transmission oil on my pu truck ford f150. It was easy.
You'll need a transmission filter and transmission oil ask the serviceman how many qts you need.
Remember that you will have to check the dipstick and see that the two holes on it are covered with red trans fluid while the engine is running. Remember while the engine is on then you check to see if you need to add which you certainly will have to keep adding until it is full. Sorry i didnt give you more details.
