SOURCE: Rear interior light and door courtesy lights not working- Jaguar

take off the cover and replace them. if you have a volt/ohm meter you can put if on the car side and make sure you have voltage and the ohm meter on the buldb should give a 1 rating if its good. it would be the cheapest and easiest to just get a new bulb and see if it works then start checking fuses if its not the bulb.

SOURCE: 2003 Jaguar S-Type, programming a key fob

If its a new key fob the only way you can program it is this the factory scan tool, u'll have to take it to a dealership for them to do this and they will charge you .5 hrs for labor.only x-types can be programmed without the jaguar software. Im guessing it will cost you between 40 and 50 bucks to have them program it.

SOURCE: how to replace rear wheel bearing on s type jaguar v reg

pretty basic the same and any other wheel bearing. But you need a hydraulic press, if you dont have one of those then their is just no way that you will be able to do it.

If it is newer than an 05 you need to take it to the dealership, because they need to hook up their computer and electronically disengage the rear parking brakes by putting it into service mode.

The 2005 Jag x will not release the trunk lock. If there I way to do that or get into the trunk?

Jaguar in their wisdom did not put an internal release for the Boot (Trunk) inside the car.

assuming the lock system is working :-

You will need to locate IP5 pin 16 on the General Electronic Control Module that sits RH side behind your instrument panel (UK Car) .
IP5 is the large brown 23 way connector that goes into the ECM module.
Take this pin to ground then your boot will pop open.

How do you set up electric hand brake after fitting rear pads?(appears to be binding on).on s type jaguar.

Bulletin from Jaguar :

Electronic Park Brake (EPB)
Re-Calibration Procedure
2003 MY-ON
S-TYPE
M44998-ON

Issue:
On some 2003 MY-on S-TYPE vehicles, a customer may report a concern of premature
parking brake pad wear or the brakes binding. This condition can result if the electronic
park brake (EPB) system is not re-calibrated after the removal of the rear brake callipers
to replace the brake pads.
Action:
Should a customer express concern regarding the above, refer to the calibration
procedure detailed in this bulletin.

1. Reset the EB module:
a. Switch off the ignition.
b. Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. For additional information, refer to STYPE
Workshop Manual Section 414-01.
c. Reconnect the battery.
2. Start the engine.
3. Firmly apply and release the foot brake five times.
4. Confirm that the message NOT CALIBRATED" or APPLY FOOT AND PARK
BRAKE" is displayed on the instrument cluster message center. This indicates that
the parking brake is in calibration mode.
5. Lightly press the foot brake pedal.
6. Apply the parking brake by using the EB switch.
7. Release the parking brake.
8. Release the foot brake.
9. Confirm that the brake warning lamp is no longer illuminated on the instrument
pack and that the NOT CALIBRATED" message is no longer displayed in the
message center.
10. Apply and release the EPB five times to ensure no error is present.

My 02 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 6cy will not crank. The battary, starter, and alternator are all good. Could this be a ECM issue?

It could be a bad Transmission Range Sensor, bad starter relay, the Passive Antitheft System, the General Electronic Module, Clutch Switch (Manual Transmission), The Engine Control Module, the Instrument Panel Cluster, or one or more of the several fuses that power the above components.

Rear box fault

HI. This is basically a transmission code. The rear box is an electronic gear module, that regulates the shift patterns of the vehicle, during transit. this is a very expensive repair, and it can only be repaired by a certified Jaguar service technician.

The necessary actions will be to have the codes ran at your local jaguar dealership. the codes will give you a better view on the actual fault, and its location, as well.

NOTE_ Depending on the code, there is also a rear fuse box that may be affecting the Transmission control modules functioning abilities. This can occur if the rear fuse box s experiencing a fault.

If you have the numbered codes handy, please post them here. If not, this will be the first action i would recommend to have administered.
