Where is the ac recharge valve for bmw x5 2009

At the very least, it sounds like your AC has lost part of the freon charge. I'd start with recharging it.

The low pressure side to the ac will be the Schrader valve that is the smallest size. If you are recharging it yourself try to fit you valve on both valve and you will see what I am talking about.

the correct one should be smaller, and your recharge hose should be only able to connect to it. the smaller fitting is the low side, and the larger fitting is the high side. recharge only to the low side. the high side is used by technicians with elaborate ac manifold guages to monitor success. these guage kits can be bought at harbor freight for about 55 dollars,and give a better recharge,as you can regulate pressure as not to overfill, which lessens the cooling

YOU NEED TO HAVE AC SYSTEM DISCHARGED AT DEALERSHIP.REMOVE MOST OF THE DASH TO REMOVE THE EVAPORATOR HOUSING TO GET TO REMOVE EXPANSION VALVE.BEST TO LET DEALERSHIP FIX.YOU HAVE TO DISMANTLE MOST OF THE DASH TO REMOVE EVAPORATOR HOUSING TO FIX EXPANSION VALVE THIS JOB VERY HARD.

had same problem with my 01 325ci ..... talked to several bmw independent technicians and found out that the evaporation coils run across the dash from driver side to passenger side. If you get low on freon, then the driver side will continue to cool down, but the passenger side will gradually stop cooling or blow warm air. Solution ,is to check for leaks in AC and then recharge the system w/freon .... unfortunately , with my car intead of a 150.00 bill for a AC coolant recharge from normnal wear

Its on the large line, the one that gets cool when a/c is running.

Check the temperature control box.

Follow your line back from the AC pump, and look for a blue cap. About twice the size of a tire valve cap. That's your low side where you add.

Under the bonnet is what is similar to a valve forv your tyres. you can buy a recharge kit with full instructions from your local motor factors.

change the cabin filter will get rid of the smell however for cold ac you will need to recharge the ac and have a black light test in 5 days or less after it was recharged. then they would spot for a leak in the ac system
