My drivers seat is stuck and won't move

The seat is stuck in one position and won't budge even the slightest bit. Doesn't appear to be stuck in any way.

Can You Pick Up Another Seat From A Salvage Yard?

Testimonial: "I was able top get the seat moving by opening the control unit and cleaning/lubricating the switches. Worked for forward/back switch and also the recliner switch. I will be purchasing a new control unit. However, the recliner has a limit switch attached to the pivot point of the seat back, and that has been broken. I have not been able to find just this piece online. It has a plug one one end & 3 wires (black, yellow & yellow/red) that connect to a box containing the limit switch. I was able to get the seat back reclining again by jumping the wires, but of course this is not a permanent solution. Need to find that pigtail with the switch on the end of it. If it cannot be bought I'll have to find one at a junk yard."

Third row seat in escalade is stuck in stow position, lever will not budge

If you are pulling the strap and this is not moving the locking part, then you will need to use something like a screwdriver and pry it away from its holding part. Also there are two latches back there...one to lower and one to take the seats out.

DRiver's seat won't slide forward nor to the rear

on the 99 the front seats are identical. assuming there was little change in 2000 you unbolt both seats and move the passenger seat over to the driver side. while it is out, you set the sliders manually to be in the middle position and the passenger seat will be stuck there. If you can get light up inside there you will see a cable connector has released at one end meaning it will not release the dog to permit sliding so you may have to pull it manually with a vise grip in order to move the seat forward on the sliders to get at the bolt heads in the rear. unplug the battery before you unplug the seats.

I have a 2005 gmc envoy and the driver seat gets hot

There may be a stuck relay Stuck in the "On" position. A relay is a remote switch that does the heavier work of a smaller or more delicate switch. It is probably under the seat but if you have "memory" seats that move the power seats back and forth it is probably the control box causing the problem. It has relays inside it.
