Code p0032refers to heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) 1 bank 1-heater control--circuit high===causes --wiring short to positive--HO2S sensor--ECM
code p0038 refers to heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) 2 bank1 heater control --circuit high===causes --wiring shorted to positive --HO2S---ECM
It is most important that when installing /removing the sensor that the correct tool is used to prevent damage to the wiring for the sensors. Severely twisting the wires during installation/ removal will result in the causes for failure listed.

HELP! 2005 Dodge Stratus 2.4L SXT Stalls Out with OBD codes P0038 P0032 P0700.

Check fuse 13, which provides the field voltage. Also check the 120 amp fuse link for the charge wire.

Why does,nt alternator charge the battery?

You need to check the small connector that plugs into the back of the alternator. One of the pins will have a power supply when the ignition is in the on position. It could be 12v or 5v so a voltmeter should be used to detect it. If no power check fuses. Possible bad charge fuse or wiring to the alternator. If power supply is there, possible faulty alternator ( even though it's new )

I have codes p0300 p0032,p0038. Replaced both o2 sensors with dealer parts. Run the car 82 miles light came back on. Check all wires before replacing both parts.

I doubt it.
Code 300 is for a random miss which is not bad enough to pick one cylinder over another.
Code 32 and 38 is for a problem with the heater circuit on each of the O2 sensors. The codes have nothing to do with the injectors.
You would need to check the heater circuit to each O2 sensor to find the problem since you have already replaced the sensors.
On most models, code 32 and 38 mean the voltage is not going thru the heaters.

Pt cruiser error codes

Could be as simple as a popped fuse. Also check the wiring surrounding the sensor, could be exposed or frayed

My ignition switch test shows a P0032 and P0038 problem

replace the O2 sensors bank 1 and 2. These sensors set the correct ratio of fuel to air for 14.7 to 1 fuel ratio. The specific codes indicate the heater in the O2 sensors are not working.

Mine is a P 0032 and P 0038

upstream and downstream oxygen sensor heater voltages are too high, possible causes are
- bad o2 sensors
- shorted o2 wiring
- bad pcm
clear codes and determine if codes are hard(current)
if they are, unplug sensors, clear codes and re-scan to see if p0032 and p0038 appear.(there will be 2 to 4 other codes generated)if p0032 and p0038 are gone from the list, change both o2 sensors.
if p0032 and p0038 are still in the list, it is either wiring or pcm issue, use a meter to check for short from o2 connector to ground, with pcm unplugged..
Good luck, Rob

This is a contnuation of my Heard A Pop question. The codes are @0300, p0032, and p0038. The car is a 2004 pt cruiser, 2.4l turbo

P0300 is
Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.
A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.
A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer
Possible Solutions If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic convertermag-glass_10x10.gif has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

P0032 and P0038 are both of your Oxygen sensors that have gone bad and need replacing, make sure that you go OEM on these parts. Parts houses usually have something different and they sometimes work and sometimes dont.
