Driving the car a small sound and the car died. Parked it and it locked in Park and will not start. What can I do?
On my 97 Mark VIII a short in the rear lights caused Fuse 32 to blow which also controls the lock that prevents you from shifting out of P under certain circumstances. Fuse may be different # on yours.
Hope this helps
There may be a wire loose. Lie on the driver floorboard with a flashlight shining up into the dash panel. Look up above the brake pedal. Tighten any loose connections you see. Good luck.

Can you describe the sound better? Did the car die while you were driving, or did you park it, and it won't start now?
