check the width of the chassis rails for starters . If the same width then check the cab mount distances . With 9 years between chassis I would think that the chassis will be different

in 1991 chevy used 3 differant trasmission's a 4L60-E, 4L80-E and a 700R4 in 1993 they used 2 differant transmissions a 4L60-E and a 4L80-E if your truck has the 700R4 then the 93 transmissions will not work if you ned to find out what you have in your truck and what is in the other truck. if they are the same they will swap the only diffance in the ext. cab and reg cab is the drive shaft. but the transmission have to be the same modles a 4L60-E will not replace a 4L80-E and nothing will replace the 700R4...

It's on the side of the transmission. drivers side. Once you get under the truck you will see the shift cable going to the transmission. the range sensor is mounted on the transmission under the cable arm. easy to replace.
Not knowing the specifics for your truck are (2 wd, 4 wd, engine size, reg cab, extended or crew, gear ratio etc)
