2000 Chevy Z-71 A/C problems

My AC works, gets cold, but it hardly blows out any air. On max it feels as other vehicles feel on the 2 setting. It switches over good, and the blower motor is fine. Even the vents on high it just doesnt blow like it should. I have an extended cab 2000 Chevy Z-71. Can you give me any pointers?

I have a 2001 silverado z71. I had the same problem. I recently found out that my truck (not all silverados) have two air filters next to floor on the passenger side. Check your users manual. I replaced both of them and it was crazy how much colder and harder that air blew.

Maybe drop the blower motor and check the vents for obstructions. I worked on a friend's car this spring that had a two year-old repair bill sucked in to the blower wheel....it limited the air output but made a lots of noise in the process.

My heater on my 2000 cdillac escalade will not blow hot air

The heater core may be plugged. After the vehicle is warmed up to operating temperature, feel both hoses (careful they may be hot) and see if they feel equally warm. If one is noticeably warmer than the other, your heater core is likely plugged.

A/c blows warm air when idle, when vehicle accelerated blows cold air. what gives?

when a vehicle stops but is still running it produces a lot of heat, since you still feel some cold air from your ac ,it is working, however maybe not up to par or its just not as much as you would like. The reason it feels cooler when you are driving is the ability to get rid of the heat from the motor because the airflow pulls away the heat from the engine and helps the cooling system.

Air cinditioning wont stay on, it switches to heat and wont shut off

What do you mean when you say it wont shut off? is it blowing hot air or do you just feel a lite flow of hot air even if you have the settings to cold?

If this is the problem that you always feel hot air at low flow and the ac goes to hot air then i would say one of two things, first if you have the selector to cold and you feel hot air then there may be a problem with the blend door, this door move to allow hot or cold air, the door may be broken or just a bad motor that controls it. keep in mind if the ac system shuts down for any reason the air then will be warm, it will be about the same temp as outside and maybe a little hotter.

this problem almost sounds like the ac compressor shuts off and then you are getting the outside air which is hot, there are many reasons for the compressor to shut off, it could be the compressor clutch heating up and disengaging , this would be due to a bad compressor clutch.

another reason is the fans are not working, the best thing to do is when the system starts to blow warm check and see if the compressor is running, start engine and look at the front of compressor, with ac off the front of it will not move, and then with ac on the front will spin, check it out and let me know, if it blows warm air and ac is not working then it may be compressor problem but if you are getting warm air and the compressor is spinning then it may be a door problem.

This is hard to check with out testing the system, so i listed a few things to check and let me know the out come. also the ac blows cold for how long before it gets hot air blowing out of the vents, good day.

My 2000 Chevy Silvarado has been having a routine problem of changing from blowing Cold for a 1/2 hour or so, to Warm. If I shut the A/C off for a little while it will start blowing Cold again, then...

Does it do it often when going up a hill? If so, you have a vacuum leak. If it does it at random times, it seems to be electrical in nature. Hard to diagnose over the internet.

My truck is blowing cold air, on

Heater core would be your best bet, also check to make sure that the door inside the ductwork is actually moving from the cold air side the the hot air side. If you have the manual lever you should be able to feel it moving, if it's vacuum operated you should hear the air flow change as the door is moved.

Ac is blowing hot air front and back= chevy astro van 2003

when you turn on ac look for front ac clucth to be turning. if it is feel the lines up to the cowl if they are cold 40 degrees or so theres probably enough charge with the year of that vehicle it maybe low on charge ac systems will usally hold for at least 5 years.

Temperature Control not working on 1999 Ford Explorer

Sounds like your temperature actuator is not moving or your temp door is broken. On max a-c ,coolant is shut off to your heater core allowing only cold air in.
