Water pump belt broke on 1991 ford tempo 4 cy. need to know how to in stall it.

There is a diagram under the hood showing how
the belt fits over all those pulleys. It's either on the
hood itself or on the chassis near the hood pin release pin.

Should be 2 belts. Which one did you break?
If it is the larger one there is a tentioner to your left of the center of the engine as you are facing the engine, somwhat centered relative all the other stuff there. With everthing tight in the engine compartment it took me a couple of minutes to recognize it.
If it is the smaller fan belt, I had to take the fan off and adjusted it the old way, with a pry bar. Off to your right of the center of the engine as you face the engine there are 3 bolts kinda grouped together. I donot recall which one you loosen, but one of these will give you slack, use a pry bar to snug the beld up good, then tighten (while holding tight). Reassemble the fan.
Hope this helps.

Picture is for the carbureted model but has the same patter as my fuel injected model. It's actually pretty easy to see how it goes. If the pully has groves then the grove side of the belt will fit right in it prefectly. If it's smooth then the back side of the belt with run along it. To loosen the belt tensioner do two things. first in the picture below you will see in the top middle you will see the tensioner. The back of the belt runs along it. You will notice that it looks like a solid peice. loosen the top slighty with i believe a 15mm. After that connect to the pully attached to it and pull back to the passenger side until you can slid the belt off the alternator. put back on in reverse order. really really simple once you do it. good luck
