Sometimes a shunt shifts the engine/gearbox and the manual linkages to the gear change levers get out of wack. Genrally if you get under the car and check the relationship of the gear selector and the linkages you should be able to detach them (do this invidually) and adjust the linkages (they are threaded rods with locking nuts) by shortening or lengthening them to allow correct correct gear selection. I have a word of caution here and it might be that in your accident you bent the frame and a good garage should be able to advise you about any safety implications. Best get it checked over by a pro. Straightening a frame is not such a big job with hydraulic rams and it could be something that could save your life.

Ok ready to stand on your head under the dash?
It's doable... there is a flange connected to the gearshift lever under the steering column. If you remove the lower dash cover where the fuses are, you should be able to see it when you move the gear shift lever... look around on the floor of the truck to see if you dropped a star-headed bolt or two... these bolts worked loose on my superduty and made shifting very difficult..it was an easy fix... let me know how you do on it.
SOURCE: won't go into gear to drive. may be transmission?
If the clutch has never been changed most likely it is that. The way you can check it is by removing the transmission and looking at the clutch disc. It could be transmission syncros but I am willing to bet you just need a new clutch.

it sound like you have a vacum leak or your shifter cable may need adjusted
SOURCE: The gear shift is stuck in park. The wheel moves
Make sure you have brake lamps. The shift interlock solenoid is powered by the brake lamp switch.
