Hi there.
Well it sounds just like a sized engine .as if was only the water pump the engine would still turn over, but with out hearing the noise it hard to judge SO take the fan belt off first, then check the water pump if it turns ok try the starter again ,if it dosent do any thing hold the key to start for 5 seconds and then turn off and then check the pos term on batter
If its hot then its the engine starter motor or seized .
I would put a socket wrench on crank shaft bolt and attempt to turn clockwise first will not turn then try CCW if bolt comes loose then engine is frozen.

It sounds like the power steering belt is too loose, tighten it up a bit but not too much just enough to make slipping belt stop.
Sounds like the new alternator was run without first fully charging the battery (12.3 - 12.8 volts)
This will destroy an alternator every time -- the classic symptom is a squealing belt.

when the transfer case shifts into 4wd it activates a vaccum switch on the transfer case which sends vaccum to the accuator for the front axle. the accuator pulls a cable that locks in the axle. the switch on the transfer case is a well known problem. check for vaccum in and out of this switch in 4wd. if you have vaccum out then check the accuator under the battery. If the vaccum switch on the transfer case is bad you can find one at most parts store in the HELP section #49315. please rate if this helps

The power steering pump is normally connected or driven by the engine with a V-belt. A loose belt can cause squealing as soon as the power steering come under load (e.g. steering left or right while stopped).
Check the tension on the V-belt directly connected to the power steering pump. This may need replacement.
Hoep this helps.

I would check the pulleys,by removing the belt, and checking the play in the pulleys, and make sure they are not trying to lock up,then replace the belt, gates belts(napa)are the best, cost a little salty, but they do not squeal. To get you by a little while, use axle grease,or front end grease, and rub it on the grip side of the belt,it will not wear off,and will stop the noise.
