1996 JEEP SAYS ITS MISS FIRIENG ON ALL 6 CYL.

I HAVE A 1996 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE AND HAD THE CHECK ENGINE CODE RAN THEY SAID IT WAS MISSING ON ALL 6 CYL. DONT UNDERSTAND WHY CAUSE I STILL DRIVE IT EVERYDAY. ALSO I HAVE LOSS OF POWER AND SOMETIMES IT ACTS LIKE ITS RUNNING OUT OF GAS. I HAVE PUT NEW PLUGS AND WIRES, FUEL FILTER. STILL HAS NOT FIXED IT.

the code they got was P0300, this is a Ramdom misfire of one or more cylinders, don't listem to the kids at Autozone they are not automotive technicians, if they were they would be making $60,000 a year and certainly not working a minium wage job at autozone. take to a qualified Jeep shop for proper diagosis and repair by a professional.

Your timings off, if its a straight six the distributor is on the left side of your engine, if its a v 6 i think its on the intake manifold
but your definitly out of time!

Engine has a miss and check engine light is on

you need to tell us what codes are being stored you can go to an autozone store they scan your car for free and tell you what codes are there but you can check your distributor cap and rotor , plugs and wires also then repost with codes and we will help :)

I was having the same problem with my Jeep.... I tried everything and nothing worked... Finally I changed the Crank senor and my problem was solved. You must get this part from the dealer (OEM) in order for your problem to be solved. AutoZone or aftermarket parts will not work...

If the light is ywllow, it's emmissions or some sensor. You can drive to a service center and have the codes read. If the light is red...STOP!! and check engine oil. DO NOT drive further!! Have it towed in for service.

Steve is right on the money. You engine is staying cold too long. I assume you probably don't have hot heat like you use too either.
