Where are the abs. sensors located at?

The ABS sensors are located on the back side of each wheel in the area of the brakes. The sensors should not keep the car from running. A warning light should display on the dash, but should not keep the car from running.

Abs light issues

if a wheel bearing is going out then the abs could be sensing that. they are located in the same area. and or are the same. some ABS and wheel bearings are made to be as one unit.

My ABS , brake , TC Off and slip lights are all on the dashboard. When I brake at low speeds can hear some sort of noise from brakes.

Does it sounds like the ABS activating (a low pitched groan)?

If the ABS light is on it will automatically disable the Traction control and stability control. Typically the ABS will not function when the ABS light is on so you have me curious as what the noise could be.

I have run into several of these with bad wheel speed sensors. There is one at every wheel. You best bet is to scan the ABS module to retrieve codes. This can be done with an ABS specific code reader or a high end multi-function scan tool. Your local parts store may be able to help you with this as well.

Otherwise you will need to make a trip to your local shop or dealer and have them run a diagnosis. There is usually a charge for this!

Otherwise if you have a muti-meter I may be able to help you check the wheel speed sensors, just let me know.

Hi, I have had my abs on and track on light on for 2 days now ...Can you help me ion solving this problem. It is a PT Cruiser 2001. Thanks Kind Regards Taher

I would have the car run on a scanner. It sounds like you have a bad wheel speed sensor as the abs and trac light rely on this sensor.

ABS light just came on and when you turn the truck off it sounds like there is a fan or motor running

It sounds like the abs pump is running when it shouldn't be. There is something wrong with one or more of the sensors for the abs system, or the pump itself. Take the truck to have the computer scanned to find out what's wrong. Some parts shops will do this for free.

Abs light is on my pick up truck but when i turn off the truck a running motor sounds under the truck. what does it means? and would it damaged my truck if i keep driving it?

OK, the ABS light being on is caused by a sensor that is pretty cheap, especailly since its just as easy to replace. The rear end/third member has a sensor on top in the middle. Remove the wire harness from the sensor, socket and 7/16 or 10mm should be right size. Unscrew, remove, replace with a new one, put screws back in, connect the plug. Light should go out. Keep in mind I dont know the year of your truck, but thats the ABS light issue. As to the noise your hearing, definately locate the exact source of where it is and go from their. It would be a good idea for anyone who has a car/truck, to have a Haynes or Chilton manual for the year make and model of that vehicle. Lots of good stuff in those books about everything. Good luck

ABS SERVICE LIGHT KEEPS COMMING ON, BUT BEFORE IT COMES ON I HEAR A CRUCHING SOUND WHEN I STOP. I replaced both of the front rotors and pads, and also I replaced driver and passenger side calipers. WHY IS...

Most likey you have a problem with one of the front wheel speed sensors not reading or a sensor harness.See if someone can pull a Code from you abs controller.Maybe a C0041.Very common on Relay Vans! If it has this code most likely will need a new set of twisted wires run from the EBTCM to the front wheel speed sensor.Hope This Helps
