My 2005 infinity fx35 suddenly shuts off while I'm driving. Has a full tang of gas...check the oil and all fluids and everything is fine. Anyone know what it could be?

need tune up , heavy foot . road conditions--mountian terrain,,city stop and go

Everything is a DIY Job, if you can find,get to & understand
what is needed,if you have enough tools

I would say that a 2005 Vehicle does not have very severe
corrosion issues this soon in it's life

Remove the ends,clean ,use some anti-seize from permatex
& reinstall YES Yourself

The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type.

check the oil strainer

There is an info button. Press that button repeatedly until you get to maintenence. Once there, use the directional knob and toggle down to oil and press ok, from there it should either give you a reset tab to highlight and press ok, or highlight the mileage bar and toggle left until it is back at 0. If you have any trouble let me know and I will walk you through it. 

If your vehicle has a info button which it should, you would press the info button repeatedly until you reach the oil change, oil filter and tire rotation intervals. Once you reach the oil change you should be able to press enter and then toggle down until reset is highlighted and then press enter again. Same thing for the other maintenance intervals. Well if you ask Infiniti, everything. From belts to flushing all the fluids and of course plugs and wires. Estimated at $1,000.00 for the works. I would flush the trans. oil and the anti freeze, as well as spark plugs. Also check the belts to make sure no visible cracks.

1st you will need to contact Infiniti, so they can quote you the option which is $700.00 something dollars when i checked. Just because its equipped there are still things that need to be added in order to make it function. As per the mechanic. Rip off.
