SOURCE: Heater problems on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Please Help!!

THis is a know problem with Jeep GC. If only one side is cold and the other is hot and there are no controls error codes. It is likely a broken temperature blend door on the faulty side (w/ dual controls). Dealer charges a lot to fix ~$800. There is a kit and instructions sold on EBAY to replace the part for $100. Seller claims that a relative novice can fix w/o removing the entire dash board as the dealer does. Has sold hundreds of kits....people seem satisfied....you may check it out. Search Heater Blend Door Jeep on ebay. Replacement parts are aluminum instead of OEM plastic.

Self Diagnostics on HVAC system. Jeep GC has built in diagnostics and will return error codes on the temp display if it is otherwise. Simple to display.
1) Press A/C and Recir button simutaneously
2) Rotate driver temp control knob clockwise then release buttons
3) If no controls error a code of "0" or "00" will be returned.
4) Error codes listings can be found on-line if anything but zero

Dealers charge $45 to run the same check

SOURCE: The blower /fan doesn't work for heat/defrost

You have to change the resistor (little box that the blower wires goes to) it is held in with 2 screws you will need the harness (($15) as the factory one was a defect and last you need to change the blower motor as the factory one draws too much power and burns up the resistor and harness..this is what i did on a 2000 grand cherokee with the climate control and it works great..I tried to fix the harness etc but it will still go out again if you do the above you will not have any problem with the blower working at random it will work better than new.I think jeep has retards for electrical people, has anyone had problems with the junky taillight assembly??

SOURCE: condensation water from ac on passenger side floor

evaporator drain is plugged... Look at the bottom of the firewall on the passenger side... should see a rubber tube (Short, only an inch or so long) coming out... need to squeeze it and see if anything is plugging it.

Testimonial: "I thought that was the problem but wanted to see if there were any options to check . Thanks for being there ."

Stuck in defrost mode

Do you have manual AC system? This uses vacuum from the engine inlet to move the actuator. Most of the time a loose or broken vacuum line is the problem.

Have a good mechanic to check to see if the door of the a/c and heater and defroster is working properly. I had the same problem and one mechanic said he could fix it for $750. I got it fixed by an honest mechanic for less than $100. Good Luck!!

Jeep AC blows cold air at defrost and feet but not through vents

There is a flap that directs the air. the flap is controlled by a vacuum actuator. This is located inside the venting. The actuator is connected to little vacuum hoses that attach to the temperature control switch. Either the flap is stuck, or the actuator has gone bad.

Ac vent problem

Damper/flap for driver's side is probably stuck. Try moving the selector from cold to hot several times. Also, move the recirc/outside air control if the previous doesn't work.
