Replaced rear main seal twice and it looked good, not the problem. After it heats up oil pours out and runs down as if it is coming from the rear main seal.
Rear main seal usually only leaks when the car is running. though oil will slowy drip off afterwards. now the best way to tell is to remove the heat sheild that covers the flywheel and look at it and at the flywheel . is the oil only on the engine side of the cover or is it inside the cover and on the fly wheel. the rear main seal will leak into the bellhousing and on the fly wheel the oil pan gasket will leak on the front of the heat sheild.

1. is the seal in correctly open side toward engine away from flywheel ? Is there any small plugs on the back of the motor ? behind the flywheel? when they drill oil gallerys in the factory that manufactures the blocks they install a plug.. looks like a small freeze plug. I do not know about this particular engine but it is something to check.. Sometimes these leak.. but not very often in 60 years i have only seen 3 of them leaking.. Please post a comment and let us know what you find.

My first place I check is the oil pressure switches there are several good oil lead detection kits available just pour the dye in the oil and use the ultra violet light and special glasses to find the leak I also found leaks on the distributor leaking from the hole in the housing indicating a bas shaft seal just replace the dist. if thats the case.
Please rate this a fixya if its helpful to you Thanks you, Randy

Yes ,regardless of which seal is used as you have to loosen main bearings so the crank can be moved down as the seals are crush type and you wont have the clearance to fit the new one,Split seals (2 piece)are the easiest to fit without moving the crank too much. The one piece seal also means trans removal. As far as removing trans completely you may be able to move it back while its being held up by a trolley jack and only pull it back far enough to give you the clearance needed.Autos are far easier than manuals. If its the rope type seal a special tool is used to fit them and its not a tool that is sold just anywhere as that type of seal kept noahs ark from sinking and havnt been used in engines for many many years.

More than likely it is coming from the intake manifold. You can use a pressure tester that hooks to the radiator and use a flashlight and mirror to get a better look at where it is coming from.

There are to many things that can cause the no start. Here is a link that can help you understand the possible problems and links to how to retrieve the DTC codes which is activating your Auto Shutdown relay.
Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted

Check were the oil filter screws on to the housing. Make sure the seal don't need replacing on the housing.
