This usually is the starter, especially if your truck has had an oil leak going for a while as the oil will run down into the starter and cause it to intermittenly fail. Also check your battery terminals and make sure you have a good connectivity.

take off the logo on the rear door and spray some wd40 into the system.

Stage 1 20nm
Stage 2 +90 degrees
Stage 3 +90 degrees

if it is a mems unit , it will need to be programed to the key fob and alarm . (there is no way round it).

I'm assuming tailgate lock. This is caused by a lack of lubrication (ts a hostile environment - loads of roadspray etc).

Simplest workaround it to prise out the landrover green badge carefully, and push the handle down from your new access point.

Then oil the hinge lavishly, with something like WD40 (or something a bit heavier). Expect to repeat the process monthly if you only use a thin oil.
