Sounds like an vacume leek check all the vacume lines with soapy water in sqert bottle spre lines if eng changes sound idle up or down theres your problem...

More specifically than a mere vacuum leak, it sounds like the EGR valve is sticking, or maybe a sticking EGR solenoid. Start by verifying the proper operation of the EGR valve.

SOURCE: changing spark plugs on lincoln town car

Remove the spark plug wires, remove the spark plugs, replace them. Do this one cylinder at a time if you never did it. On that year you may need to remove the upper intake to access the plugs on one side. In that case go to a shop. This would not be a novice job.

SOURCE: 1999 Lincoln Town Car (Check Engine Comes On)

you have to get a reading of the on board diagnostic system, Autozone read it for free . then they will print a code for you that will show which part is causing the problem (oxygen sensor or the catalytic converter )

SOURCE: 1979 Lincoln Continental Town car has a rough idle

I"d lean toward the dirstributor itself. You were right to check the timing but a balky distributor would cause occaisional mis-fires. Apart from that, the timing chain itself would be the next likely culprit.

What is the part called right above my break pedal that controls my brake light in my 93 lincoln towncar

It is a BOO, Brake On Off switch. Most part stores just call it a brake light switch. If you have one switch on the pedal and you have cruise control, the switch does both jobs. Most cars have two switches though, one for cruise and the other for the brake lights. The one for the brake lights is usually just two wires.

My 1993 lincoln towncar seems to lose power sometimes while driving it has this hesitation for a few seconds then it seems to smooth out and drive normal until it decide to do it again.

Check you're fuel injectors, if so, use fuel injector cleaner every other fill up, if the problem worsens, check you're catalic converter for clogs.
