Acura cl 1997 2.2 bose amplifier location

The best way to install an aftermarket radio in your vehicle is to install new speaker wires. To bypass the amp takes quite a bit of work and the factory speaker wires are too small for a performance system.

I Hooked up my new stereo and cant get any sound. I put the factory Bose back in and the sound works. Hooked up my new stereo to another car and it has sound. Can anyone tell me Why im not getting sound...

If you had a "Bose" sound system - Factory installed - it should have and Amplified System - which means the original stereo will supply power to the Speaker Amps - that is the circuit that didn't get connected and why there is no sound.
I hope that resolves your issue
Thanks

either your connectors need cleaning or maybe a break in the wiring. Is there on spot where both wires come together if so check there. If there is any plugs, pull them apart and clean them with contact cleaner

Sony xplod stereo wiring diagram

Yes you need to turn on the BOSE amplifier in the car to hear the sound. The wiring diagram is actually on top of the factory radio
You will need a 12v trigger to turn the amp on. this is assuming you have all the speaker (inputs) connected to the output from your new deck.

Installed a Sony Xplode into a 99 Blazer and everything on the radio works but will not play through the speakers

The Bose system is complex - it has an amplifier separate from the Bose compatible radio. This amplifier takes low level audio signals from the radio, not full driver outputs from a replacement radio, and by trying to use the replacement radio you may have blown the amplifier. If that is the case, you may not be able to go back to the original radio.
The only option you may have with the replacement will be to find the Bose amplifier and bypass the connections to feed the replacement radio outputs directly to the speakers. This may not be as simple as it sounds, as distribution to the various speakers comes from the amplifier, not the radio, and the wiring from the amplifier to the radio may not have all the wires you need. Before going on, you had better get a wiring diagram for the Bose system (service manual or Alldatadiy.com).

Amp color code wire diagram 2002 tahoe

I just built a factory amplifier/crossover bypass adapter for my 2002 Chevy Tahoe Z71 (non-Bose system) . This adapter will allow the full range of audio directly from your head unit to the door speakers. Without this adapter, the factory amplifier will cut out much of the bass / low frequency audio to the door speakers. This adapter will continue to provide an audio signal to the factory amplifier for the rear factory subwoofer and cargo area pillar speakers.

I have posted an article with complete set of step-by-step instructions and detailed photos of the build and installation process.

http://www.savagehomeautomation.com

The article also includes direct links to the exact parts that I purchased on Amazon to build this bypass adapter.

This is what the end result looks like. It is a 100% non-destructive adapter than can be installed or removed from the Tahoe at any time. It just plugs in between the factory wiring harness and the factory amplifier.7_9_2012_1_38_07_pm.png

Good Luck!

I have a 92 marquis, and ive just changed out the factory stereo with a aftermarket. How can i hookup the amp that came with the bose system??

If you bought a wiring adapter kit for the aftermarket stereo, the unit should hook up directly to the stock bose system. Note: If there is sound coming from the speakers after installation, the amp IS hooked up...the speaker wiring is routed to the factory amplifier, not the stereo itself, the stereo wiring is just signal leads to the amplifier. In some instances, you may have to connect the amp remote wire to the remote wire coming from the aftermarket stereo(blue wire). I hope this helps. Any other questions, just reply.
