The engine light came on and this is the code that came up. how can i fix it or is it dealership only.

P0497 = evaporative emission system low purge flowcel if you want to try and fix this problem, buy a new genuine Honda gas cap and see if the light turns back on. if that doesnt work, the job can get very expensive to diagnose and fix. The next thing a dealer would do is run an evaporative function test (~$100) to see what is leaking.

Where is the purge valve located on a 2004 honda LX?


It is with a 2 wire Black connect located next to the throttle body. Locate the green cap on the evap hose and follow it to the throttle body and that is the purge valve.

resetting it doesn't fix what made the light come on... take it to your nearest autozone and have them scan the codes (free)

My engine light stays on


it may be a stored problem that fixed itself but the error codes need to be cleared by a diagnostic machine i think its like 40-60$ at a dealership
