Not sure how rought but traditionally, Honda's are known to shift rough... its kinda their sporty style. I think its funny that the Accord is considered a "sedan", when clearly is not a Taurus or Impala which are purely sedans.

cheers!

Check the transmission fluid level. Its possible you could have too much or too little. It should be up to the top line.
The transmission fluid can be changed by removing the plug underneath. Using the ratchet without a socket. You will need ramps to get it up higher for access to the bolt. I recommend synthetic transmission fluid. Its just a drain and you refill through the bolt on the top side. The haynes manuals are very helpful with many procedures and locating various areas of the vehicle for servicing.

I bought honda accord recently 2004 model. Everything working fine. Cruise control and all electronics working fine. But it jerk in first and second gear then it pick up the power. When i want to speedup...

This problem is caused by disparity between Vehicle speed and Transmission RPM preset for that speed. Transmission automatically shifts gears smoothly when car reaches a preset speed, set by the manufacturer. If either the shift solenoid is not responding or the Transmission is slipping JERK will be experienced. First check fluid levels and change fluid if it has not been changed in the last 45,000 miles. Since you just bought the car you have no knowledge. Do not do Transmission flush if you have over 100,000 miles. Only do drain and fill with Honda Fluid. Only Drain and fill is recommended so as not to wash away/disturb the friction material by power flushing. During drain and fill add a bottle of Torgue multiplier fluid available in Auto part stores. If this does not work then take it to a Transmission shop for them to diagnose.

Shifting high rpm

These transmissions are very sensitive to fluid type. If the trans fluid is not Honda specific then drain and refill with Honda fluid. The "jerk" may be transmission related but could also be the rear engine mount or another engine/transmission mount. The rear mount is hydraulically operated. They are often bad and are not cheap. Be sure all mounts are secure, unbroken and that the rubber portions are not cracked from age or weather.

My 2003 accord jerks when you want to suddenly accelerate

So, when you punch the gas, the transmission shifts gears, and jerks when shifting? If it's a rough shift, first check your transmission fluid for proper level and condition. It should be a good pink color. Dark brown or dirty fluid with a stinky burnt odor is an indication your fluid needs draining and replacing. Actually, most manufacturers recommend replacing fluid and transmission filter every 2 years, or about every 60,000 miles, for longer life of the transmission.
I hope this helps your problem. Good luck.

I suggest you have a transmission shop take a close look at your vehicle. That year accord with a v6 and automatic transmission had a recall for the transmission and your problem seems to be a slowly dying tranny.

Po740 code, 1997 honda accord ex 4cyl. 2.2 sons girlfriend just bought this car from a dealership, the check engine light was not on.About a week after she bought it the light came on and she said the...

The error code is basically confirming what you have already found that the transmission is slipping, specifically that when the torque converter locks up on a gear that there is not a significant drop in engine revs i.e. slippage (the lack of engaged drive whilst the transmission is shifting between gears allows the engine to rev a little more freely and the sensor looks for the reduction on engine revving when a gear is engaged). First check the transmission fluid on the transmission dip stick; do this with the car running in 'park'. Firstly is reading 'full'? if not consider topping it up via the transmission dip stick tube. Secondly what does the fluid look like? It should be healthy pink, if brown and burnt smelling this indicates wear and old fluid and this will require a drain and replacement of transmission fluid along with the transmission filter. The torque converter clutch brake band has worn down or it may be that it can be adjusted to compensate for this wear. Adjusting such things should left to the specialists. If the car is still fresh from the dealer I would expect them to repair/fix the fault as a good will measure. This is purely a wear issue and not one due to abusive use of the car.

You indicated that the transmission starts jerking after a long drive.

With the mileage on your vehicle, and the possible sandy conditions that it is driven in, your automatic transmission fluid may be fouled, also causing the jerky shifting with extended operation.

A thorough cleaning of the transmission case interior and inspection of your gears are in order. You could prevent this similar situation after repairs by replacing your ATF more often that required by your service manual.

Hope this helps.
