you could have a bad cylanod in your starter that's what is sounds like or you might need a new starter sence you have looked and tested everything else that's the only other peice of resenable equitment left and if thats not it you could try the O2 sencer in the car if that's bad or going out it will make a car act that way. if that's not it then your problem, lys in the corb. but i would try the cylanoid in the starter first and work your way up from there

Hello tim42220: y name is Roger and I will help. If the timing belt does not turn when you crank the engine the belt is bad. The belt has a habit of striping the teeth of a the crankshaft gear. This engine shows to be a non-interference engine. That means if the belt breaks the valves should not bend. This is something you should be able to do if you are mechanically inclined. Main thing is to be sure all timing marks are right. I would strongly recommend replacing the water pump at the same time. The water pump is turned by the timing belt. Should the water pump go bad it will also damage the timing belt. They do make a timing belt kit that includes the belt and all new timing belt idler pulleys. You will need to reload the belt tension-er. This is the worst part as it is hard to reset the plunger. Easier to by a new one but they are not cheap. If you look at the new belt you should see two solid stripe markings and one stripe that is a dotted line.I would also replace the camshaft seals as they are the reason for the oil leaking onto the timing belt. When installed correctly the marks align with the timing marks on the engines cam and crankshaft. Enclosed is a picture of the timing marks.Should you need further help please just ask. Using a new O-ring, install the inlet pipe to the water pump.
Attach the clamps and bolts to hold the pipe in place and tighten to 7-9 ft. lbs. (9-12 Nm).
Connect the water inlet and water bypass hoses to the inlet pipe.
Install the water pump pulley and temporarily tighten the four pulley bolts.
Install the drive belts on all the pulleys and adjust all of them to the correct tension.
With the belts in place and adjusted, the water pump pulley will now resist turning. Tighten the pulley bolts to 16-18 ft. lbs. (22-24 Nm).
Install the front engine mount (mounting insulator).
Confirm that the draincocks are closed on the engine block and radiator. Refill the engine with coolant. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Start the engine and check for leaks.

have one of these in the yard with a the big ends gone and a possible cat problem ,on older models like this their is a ignition module and a crank sensor so it has to be one or the other ,the module isnt possible to test as such with right gear but the sensor is ,so disconnect the plug connector and rig up the multimeter across the wires from the sensor and then crank engine ,set multimeter to 10v and see if it produces a voltage when cranking engine if no voltage change it ,the module can be tested as well but on the other end of same connector ,connect an old bulb in a holder and then find the earth side of the two wires with the meter then run a bit of wire from this to earth then the 12v through bulb and touch teh other connection and with the centre lead out of didtributor and hold it close to engine touch the bulb wire to the connection and as you touch the connection it should spasrk if the module is working .
