The pulley system of the driver side window regulator broke. The controls still worked. I replaced the window regulator with a new one, and the controls work when activated BEFORE mounting the door panel. After mounting the door panel, the controls no longer work. Since replacing the window regulator, my mirror controls on teh driver door no longer work along with the alarm being set when I lock the door. Basically, all controls on the driver door no longer respond. I cannot lock/unlock any doors from the control module, cannot operate any windows from the module, and cannot adjust my mirrors from the mirror control. I can roll my driver window up and down form the outside by holding the key in the lock/unlock positions. But he alarm does not arm. I have taken the door apart and connected every wire one by one securely numerous times to no avail.. I am at a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Here is some information regarding your car. The window, mirror, and radio switches are controlled with the window and mirror control modules. The module in your engine bay is for the power mirrors. The module under the dash is for the power windows. The module in your trunk is for the radio and antenna. The control modules need power to operate. The window, mirror, and radio switches are controlled with a wire that comes from one of the control modules. The wire goes to a switch in your dash. The power wire in the switch goes from the switch to your window, mirror, or radio module. If the control modules do not work, the module needs to be replaced.
Check the wire bundle coming in to the door at hinge side. It is a short or broken wire
SOURCE: Is there a fuse or factory reset for the drivers
Yeah, there is fuse.I suggest you pull each fuse out and check it.Make sure wire in the fuse is in one piece. If broken ,replace it .If no fuses are blown, then your problem is in the switch itself.Locate junkyard and purchase used one instead buy a new.It will save you some money.
SOURCE: the driver side master control buttons dont work?i
The little metal contacts inside the switch havecorroded. I have torn apart the switches and sanded the contacts severaltimes and they always worked afterward. Just be careful and watch what you are doing. They are a little tricky but if you mess up then the switch at the wrecking yard will cost you all of 5.00 or ten bucks. Do not buy it new. You will loose an arm. I have never messed up though. Ilike saving my money to much. Good Luck, I hope this helped, The Raz
