This sounds like a fuel delivery issue. The fact that the engine starts and runs when you add starter fluid suggests that there is a problem with the fuel pump or the fuel pressure. It could also be a problem with the fuel filter or the fuel injectors. It would be best to have a mechanic diagnose and fix the issue.
it if fires with ether then the problem is no fuel to the injectors . You say there is fuel to the injectors so that means that if the injectors are electronically controlled then there is no control for the injectors . So that means something like immobiliser not operational, cam/crank position sensor fault . I would suggest that the data link for the scanner is not being connected correctly and that is why there is no reported codes.
check make sure plugs sparking which is controlled by coil packs which could be faulty, very unlikely all injectors or coil packs faulty, start at basics check all fuses and engine ecm works injectors and only once car immobilizer has told engine ecm that key ok.
To fix the high idle, replace the top oxygen sensor. I would drop the transmission pan and change the transmission filter. You can then check the old fluid for contamination and metal filings. Metal filings will clog the transmission filter and lead to low pressure that would cause delayed shifts
Fuel pump, you have to have press in the rail to fire all injectors- she will run on ether but not good for her. Ck your pump and any related fuses, relays, wiring.
