When it rains water leaks into the passenger side and soaks the floor boards on the passenger side. It is not water from the a/c. It is rain water. Any suggestions as to where it is coming from or how to check it?
Someone in the car watching for leak, someone outside the car with a hose.. Gently apply water to the door area and person inside looks for the leak... Another possibilty. If the water is comning from under the car it can be a rusted place or a body separaion.. harder to find. It can be comning in from around the windheild seal and running down the interior firewall. This is how a shop would find the leak.. but they would charge you for it..
There's a tray under the sun roof going from back to front on both sides. Follow that tray and look for the drain holes. They are a little hard to see but use a bright flashlight.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: wet drivers side floor, seems to be rain water,
have you been using your A/C, I am betting that you drain for your A/C is clogged, it is located on the driver side under the car against the fire wall, hose/nipple using a piece of wire or pipe cleaner unclog drain. Good Luck Tim
SOURCE: after it rains water is in trunk Nissan Altima
When diagnosing a water leak, here's a handy tip. Check the accumulated water. If the water is dirty, look for leaks from the underside of the vehicle (floor, wheelwells, etc). If the accumulated water is clean, look for leaks from the topside of the vehicle (trunk seal, window seal, etc). To find where the water is coming from, shut yourself in the trunk with a flashlight and have an assistant run water over the trunk with a garden hose. You may have to remove some of the interior trunk trim to see exactly were the water is coming from, but chances are you'll find it. Also another common cause of water leaks are from impact damage, so check for collision damage repair. while your in there. -hope this helps.
SOURCE: when it rains, water leaks into the car through
First thing we gotta find out where its coming from. After floor is dry sprinkle baby power on the floor and up my the fire wall and the check for the wet spots.
Possible causes: Lead in floor boards, a window replacement where the gasket was correctly installed.Drainage passage clogged for winshield
wiper motor area.

I also have a 2009 Nissan Altima and after sitting or driving in the rain the entire back floorboards are soaked. I took it in last year and supposedly they replaced a "plug". Unfortunately the repair was done at the end of the rainy season so everything seemed to be okay. Fast forward to this seasons first real rain and again soaked floorboards. I went back to the dealership very frustrated with the whole situation. This time they had had my car for 4days and I was told that the HVAC box was leaking due to a clogged line. The line was cleared and sealants used on certain areas. The service advisor is confident that this will take care of my problem. I'm not so confident since my HVAC system was not in use when the car was just sitting there filling up with water. Wish me luck. I am curious how many 2009 Altima's are having this problem and if Nissan is just trying to avoid some sort of recall notification. Very dissapointed 1st time Nissan owner.
