I HAVE A AUDI A6 98 MODEL ,ONE OF THE WATER PIPE HAD A LEAK AND NOW IT THE TEMP GUAGE GOES UP TO 90 IN A SHORT DRIVE .

THIS IS AS IT SHOULD BE,the temp should rise after about 1 to 2 miles,VW group engines have very little water in them compared to some other makes and should get to "operating temp" far quicker than most other cars.as long as your not overheating/overcooling,your gas mileage will be at its optimum.

Hi, I have a 1999 Audi A6 Avant. The steering wheel squeals when I turn left or right. I had the steering pump replaced. It stopped after replacing it and then started again shortly after. Took the car...

the pulley tentioner on the power steering belt, i ve done lots of them, they are self tentioning and over time can cause to much tention on the belt, if this the case when you have the steering at full lock it should squeal the loudest.

I want to buy an Audi A6 and have two options: i- 2001 Audi A6 with 92,000 miles on it or ii- 1999 Audi A6 with 66,000 miles on it.. Which one would you recommend?

With the year difference only being two years apart I would go with the lower mileage vehicle. But remember that just because it's lower mileage doesn't mean it's in better shape mechanically.A quick trip to your trusted auto mechanic and a small charge of $25 per car can get you a prepurchase inspection, which will tell you any problems the vehicle might have, aka oil/fluid leaks, etc.I hope I could help.....get back to me with any questions

My Audi a6 has 75 000 miles, what are the major maintenance requirements? WHat parts need to be replaced?

find a SPECIALIZED Audi mechanic with his own / family business ( NOOOO DEALERS !!!!!!) which may give 3 references - customers. After that, the only thing you should care would be the regular oil service. Splendid car, mine drove like a dream until the dealership f****d its engine.

Car doesn't Start after suden loss of power

Either charge or replace your battery or check for any faulty wires that could have been damaged by the excess loss of power if it was due to a short circuit.

Audi timing belt

It's a complicated job, and usually takes about 8 hours to do the full service if you're familiar with the car's mechanicals, you have a good array of tools (air tools help a lot), you're familiar with what you're doing, and with how to disassemble everything (including removing the front of the car - I'm not joking). There's more to the job than just the belt too - you need to replace the timing belt, timing tensioner, water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, and serpentine tensioner. If your cam seals are leaking (which is also known to happen), you'd need those and plan for a couple more hours as well, due to the care that must be taken not to scratch or score the cam end caps.
