Jaguar s-type restricted performance displayed

Restricted perfomance displayed and car will not rev above 3000 revs . Took it to local garage and ran diagnostic showed no problem

Its most likely the coils and spark plugs, sometimes caused by oil leaking from the valve cover gasket. The coils deteriorate over time from engine heat and need to be replaced at 90-100k
Local garages don't have the Jaguar diagnostics terminal and are unable to do more than find basic error codes with a reader. Its important to get this fixed because it's causing damage to your caltalytic converters. They are expensive.

A friend of mine had the same problem, and he found out that the problem was caused by trying to cut fuel costs by using regular unleaded gasoline instead of the required Super or Premium grade that is supposed to be used in the Jag. Once he filled it up again using Premium Unleaded the problem disappeared.

I have same issue with my range rover sport autobiography 2011 and the reason is the low quality gasoline . the warning is gone simply by fill with premium gasoline

Only revs up to 3000 rpm changed throttle body didn't help changed fuel filter didn't help no power above 25/30mph need suggestions
Possible restricted/plugged catalytic converter causing exhaust back pressure to be too high. You will need a back pressure test performed to see if this is the problem. You can also remove the front oxygen sensor and try revving the motor to see if the exhaust leak created with the sensor removed will lower the back pressure and allow the engine to rev higher

Check engine light and restricted perfomence is on screen supercharger not working
if the supercharger has failed it will have to be replaced and the restricted performance came on so that further damage wont be accrued ....keep us posted

Vehicle is in a restricted performance mode, limits the engine revs to below 3,000. Need to scan the vehicle and see what codes are present. could be a problem with the throttle body.

WHY IS RESTRICTED PERFORMANCE LIGHT ON
Lots of things can cause this. Most likely it is due to an engine vaccumn leak from any number of gaskets. Your local dealer or mechanic can check for any faults stored in the car's computer (ECM). This will lead them to the cause of the restricted perfomance light.

Jaguar s-type restricted performance
I had the same problem. Restricted performance and running rough at 3000 RPM. I have an OBDII code reader and found that the problem was in the air mass flow sensor, which is just after the air filter. I pulled this out and found it was dirty and had butterfly wings in it. The last shop where I had the oil changed replaced the filter for me but put in the wrong size. Close but no cigar. Bought some *** Flow Sensor cleaner at auto store and fixed the problem. Get an OBDII reader with the ability to erase the codes. Comes in real handy.

Jag s type 05. restricted performance mess. appear intermittantly
Unfortunately many things can cause this. It may just be a faulty sensor or wiring plug/socket. The jaguar engine has many sensors all of which can cause this message. Best get the cars fault register read at a garage - this should show you where the problem may lay. The fact that the fault can disappear for long periods would indicate its something minor at the moment. for peace of mind get it checked.
