Also is there any Temporary fix so I can at least get it to my house? Thanks

I just tried to start it again after letting it sit over an hour and it sounded like it wanted to start but then went back to the clicking sounds. Could it be because the battery doesn't have enough amps to make it start?

    Ok Thaks

It sounds like your starter needs cleaned or replaced. The poping noise could be the actuator not engaging right. As for the engine light, it could be just a coincidence.

If it is the starter, the only thing you can do is tap it and cross your fingers. Also check your battery cables and try to give it a jump. Sometimes this works to free the starter. Other than that no.

  • Matthew Boulden Jun 23, 2009

Yes, that is correct. Attempt to jump start it and see what happens.

It should charge up, but I would stop by autozone and have them test it, they do it for free. They can also test your alternator for free. I am glad I could help.

My 2006 grand caravan is making a clicking noise when I try to start it. I charged the battery up but it still is clicking. Any ideas? Everything seems to be working it just wont turn over and start.

if the voltage is correct. it may be a bad solinoid for starter, or the starter itself. check and make sure all connections from starter to battery, are clean and tight. with car off, voltage at battery should be at least 12.6 volts or better, engine off, with the engine on and if alternater is ok! it should read at least 14.2-14.6 at battery. good-day!

2006 Dodge Gr. Caravan. Loud humming noise upon

Misalignment of the belt, incorrect belt, worn or loose tensioner, Too tight of an adjustment (many service centers do this on purpose so when the belt breaks in it becomes properly adjusted, I do not believe in this philosophy), The belt is actually one long belt called a serpentine belt.....

By turning the key on and off does not pull engine codes in 2001 dodge the system has changed

With the battery connected?
With a Digital Odometer: Turn the Key from Off to On (not start) three (3) times, On the third (3rd) time leave it in the On (not start) position. The Codes will appear in the Digital Odometer Screen. When it is finished it will show "PdonE".
It is on the 2001 Dodge Caravan.
Without a Digital Odometer?
Turn Key the same way and leave the same way.
Watch the Engine Light (yellow) and count and record the blinks. Do it a few times to get the count correct.
These are 2-digit numbers. The last set is 5-blinks and 5-blinks indicating that it is complete.

Will not start. Makes loud clicking noise. Instrument Panel goes crazy. All needles go to far right.

sounds like your battery is very low. that clicking is your starter trying to work. but without enough power the pinion on the starter can't activate to crank the engine over. have the battery and alternator checked if possible.

Sounds right & check manual for warranty guidelines for your emission system & components, sometimes they are a little longer than 40,000 I believe.
